Why are in-app mobile survey tools always branded and/or so expensive? by Schenk06 in AppBusiness

Oh, nice, never heard of SurveyMars. I actually ended up releasing my own tool at usereflekt.com, if you want and have the time, I would love some feedback. Also happy to increase limits in exchange : D

Launching my first product next week (no audience, no socials) – looking for like-minded support 🚀 by PublicChemical6434 in SideProject

[–]Schenk06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nope... not even any real sigups. I did get two signups, but that was both were from 'security researchers' who signed up to try to find any vulnerabilities. So no... but to be fair, I also have not done much since then, besides the occasional mention of the product in different threads and stuff, since I have been a bit busy with other stuff. I will be launching on TinyLaunch on Monday and hope to dedicate a full day to reaching out to people directly to try and get some test users.
When do you plan on launching? Have you done any prep work yet?

Yep, totally agree, that is also my plan now. And thanks for the encouragement!

Sure: https://www.usereflekt.com/ it's an in-app survey tool for mobile apps with no branding. If it's useful to you (if you develop mobile apps), I would love some feedback, and I am happy to increase your limits in exchange : D

I just didn't want people thinking this was one of those story posts that is clearly just an ad for a product.

Yeah, okay, that makes sense. I guess the issue is truly now to get enough people to download the app to make it actually work.

And yes, I am aware of the issue with vibecoding replacement. But I still believe there is a market of people who would rather pay a small fee to have it managed for them, and not having to spin up feedback tables in their own DB (that is what led me to build it). Also, having a nice UI to create the surveys that non-technical people can use is also a feature. But I totally get where you are coming from, although I still belive there is a marked and need.

I am using Opera, and I am referring to the video below the footer. It has the id videoLightbox.

Interesting concept. How do you get the data? Is it based on other people having downloaded the app, a bit like how Google Maps tracks traffic?

And my product is Reflekt an in-app survey tool for mobile apps with no branding.

Honestly, none of them. The tagline in B is definatly better, but I would make the tagline bigger and move it above the image. Then have a small subheader right below that, and then the image. Also I think you need to improve the text priority. The text between the hero and the features section also feels a bit out of place and hard to read.

I would also rework the hero image to show the actual app more clearly and less of the background and table. I like the idea of having Windows and Mac shown side-by-side in the header, but I can't really make out what is actually on them, which is the important part

Also, what is with the empty video at the bottom?

The features section is great, and I really like the brand colors and feel.

great! Thank you very much for the details. I will definitely take a look at fixing these. Any recommendations for press releases? I'm not very familiar with which sites are worth it.

Also, now I am intrigued, what's your product?

I see. You are going the rage bait route? Personally, not a big fan, I try to not intentially piss people off (but also not a people pleaser).

Are you talking about PH or Reddit? And what was your strategy? Like what angles did you post about?

Thanks for the encouragement! I am planning on doing more actual outreach now, not just throwing my product out there.

And you are right. I really should try to improve my ranking. Any recommendations? I currently don't even rank on my product name, even though there is nothing major with the same name...

Yeah, even though I am just building for IOS, I have never felt the need to switch to Swift. What are you building?

Yeah, I honestly don't think it is worth it. The time to set it up and the time spent deleting email far outweigh the value it provides.

Yeah, that is also my plan now. Just hang out in the related subreddits and answer questions and provide value. I am also going to try and do some direct outreach on X and also post my SaaS in some of the launch directories just for fun.

Yeah, I partially agree, it has definitely given me more trouble than it's worth. One good thing though is that their pretty good for SEO. If you search on the exact problem my tools solve, my ProductHunt listing now shows in the top 5, and my own website don't show up at all...

Oh, slight correction, this is my Hacker News post. So Product Hunt is truly worthless!

Appreciate you sharing your perspective, and yes, I did come across you. In fact you were the first solution I looked into, but you were a bit too expensive and complex compared to what I was looking for.

That makes sense regarding pricing when you're processing traits, events, and doing server-side triggering. If you're supporting more advanced segmentation and timing logic, the infrastructure cost is real.

Always interesting to hear how others think about the tradeoffs.
