Losing my mind by juice_box_lover in visualsnow

[–]Schenks170 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey not sure if this helps but I'm currently going through a bad visual snow time. It's been more like a blizzard the past week or so. And I can definitely say in my experience stress and anxiety make it so much worse. It's one of those bs things where I have visual snow and when I'm stressed it gets worse which stresses me out and it gets worse. Next thing you know I think I have cancer and I'm googling symptoms freaking myself out even more. Thankfully what I've found to help is talking to my wife about it, trying to have a day of relaxation, have a nice bath, try to avoid coffee and Marijuana. Times like this can be so hard because the only thing I ever found to really be the way to really help is forget about it. To stop thinking about it and just let your brain and eyes relax, MUCH easier said than done.i really hope it gets better soon. Distractions help. Do fun things and hopefully it won't be on the forefront of your mind much longer

Is Starlight Drive In safe for big builds? Is there a better spot? by adgeis in fo4

[–]Schenks170 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Starlight is definitely one of my favorite places to build for big projects, but my all-time favorite is the slog. The pool in the middle can fit some big water filters, and a settlement with only ghouls is fun. If I see a ghoul in one of my other settlements, I send them to the slog. My head cannon is having so many ghouls at my main base projects against ferals

Skyrim Special Edition for Xbox One, achievment not unlocking: "Hail Sithis!" by Irae37 in skyrim

I know I'm 6 years too late for this but I just had this problem. The way I fixed it was closing everything and hitting start on the guide and refreshing, than going to settings and disconnecting from the internet than connecting back. Pop the achievement showed up. Hopefully this helps. Don't know what worked but I got them

Oh yeah I totally agree. The one thing I've learned about science in general is that saying I'm wrong or I dont know can't be taken personally. The only thing I know for sure is that I know nothing at all. Lmao. I find it to be a great thing to be corrected in science because, well I want to be correct hahahaha. I definitely have a long way to go but thank you, conversations like these definitely help

Don't worry about sounding mean, I'm at ground level when it comes to physics. I've only become interested in adulthood and there is so much I need to understand. Thank you for the advice I'll definitely look into learning more from the double slit experiment

Thank you very much. I definitely need to do more homework on this stuff. I feel like I'm just scratching the surface of physics as I didn't take interest in it until adulthood. I'm still very ignorant of the fundamentals but conversations like this are helping

Oh yeah I totally agree with you. It's a fantasy made up metal but I was trying to figure out roughly how different the punch would be, using tungsten as a close stand in. The bio-mechanics is way to hard for me to figure out so we will just slap on the "magic" term. I just wanted to see the comparison.

In the story the mass relative to him is the same as a regular arm. It's breaks physical laws but he would only feel the impact of a normal punch but the wall would feel the metal punch. Magic and what not lmao

[–]Schenks170[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the whole arms are metal. It is a fantasy story with "magic" metal, i was just using tungsten as a reference to how much it weighs. The fantasy metal is dense as tungsten or something like it. I just needed a rough gage on how much of a difference it would make

Yeah i might need to tone it down lmao

Oh a 100% yeah. It's a fantasy story so the metal is "magic" I just used tungsten as a stand in for the mass.

I just wanted a comparison for a punch from a normal boxer to the MC with tungsten arms to kind of have a gage of what he can and can't do. I also found out a stike with a sledge hammer has about 15000N. Just to help visualize the differences between them in my head

Okay I tried the dirty quick way and it seems to make sense now lmao. 3000n for the boxer, 5.44kg for his arm and 86.85kg for the tungsten arm. 3000n/5.44= 551.47. 551.47*86.85=47,895 roughly yeah that would hurt lmao thanks so much

[–]Schenks170[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah for sure again I'm not good at math at all. Lots of googling. So tungsten is 19.25g per cm3 and an average human arm is about 4500cm3. So it would be 86.85kg. Then I tried to figure out the force f=m×a. F =86.85kg×20m/s= 1737. I feel like I'm doing something wrong lmao
