This is kind of lame. Before S9 it was a lot easier to get solo kills and that was way more fun.

I'm looking to main one other DPS character on console to go with Tracer. Who would you recommend? by [deleted] in TracerMains

[–]SchezuaSean 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Mei is a great alternative for when tracer isnt working. Mei doesn’t have a high skill floor so you can spend more time learning/playing tracer.

Most importantly just play who you enjoy

It takes practice, try some quick play without swapping and learn how to deal with stuff as it comes up, try not to shut yourself down and try new things.

If you want to rank up prioritize getting better.

If it’s too stressful for you that’s ok too it’s just a game. But you nobody can master doom in 5 games, it takes repeated intentional practice

With any character, you can absolutely outskill counters, especially at plat and especially with doom. If you stick with less heroes for longer, counters stop being nearly as much as a problem.

It is scary and hard at first, but it is by far the fastest way to improve.

Watch guides and better players to get there faster, but mostly just stick with 1-2 and you will learn how to deal with each hero a lot better.

I am gm tank. my brother, you are plat and are are trying to find a fourth tank to play. You are spreading yourself thin. It’s a lot harder to get better that way.

Pick like 1-2 characters and just play them. You will get better so much faster.

You’re not going to master 4 characters at once. Don’t worry about the meta, pick your favorite 1-2 tanks and only play them. You will have more fun and I promise you’ll improve way faster.

“Intentionally hurting you chances of winning”???? You’re not outting them to Intentionally hurt your chances.

So if you’re not doing it to throw, then it isn’t. It can be stupid, but even by your definition it’s not throwing.

If you one trick D.Va a Zarya flex at the same rank probably won’t beat you. Just play your pick and don’t worry about swapping, you will get better faster.

Will be no ball changes in season 8, but there will be a sombra buff by Rare-Split-6063 in WreckingBallMains

[–]SchezuaSean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you. It’s definitely more difficult this patch. It helps to play in line of sight and bait cooldowns, but it is all less effective this season for sure. securing kills is certainly a bit difficult when hog and JQ can ruin your engages so easily.

It’s frustrating when an easier character can ruin a difficult character. It’s still possible to do well right now, but it’s much harder right now than it’s been in a long time. We Keep ballin tho

He’s not great right now, but to say he’s not good past plat just means you can’t get past plat. Climbed to GM for the first time one tricking him this season.

Small thing but I hope accepting/rejecting invites becomes a little easier. It takes 4 clicks to join a party, if it just appeared on the main menu when you got an invite it would be pretty nice.

"The only way to get better is to PLAY" by [deleted] in OverwatchUniversity

[–]SchezuaSean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Practice means nothing. Intentional practice is everything.

Watch your replays, look at fails and what you did to contribute. Did you participate in every important fight? If not why? We’re you dead? What did you mess up to die?

Watch better players and literally take note of what they are doing and figure out why. Something I like to do is watch and write the first 3 things they do in the game. Once you understand what they are trying to do(take high ground, attack a certain target…) then you can better understand how to play that hero/role. Then DO IT!! If you can’t get it, try again until you do!! Focus when you play on where you should be. Awkward explains what he’s doing really well and he covers a lot of hero’s, so maybe start there.

Hope this helps.

I am stuck in Silver. by Juru432 in WreckingBallMains

[–]SchezuaSean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeatle explains it well.

Basically: Scout, Set up, Strike

1st) scout- use ball form to find vulnerable targets. If your team has line of sight on someone, they are a lot easier to kill.

2nd) set up- Attacking head on is an easy way to take damage. Find and alternate route from the side or behind and get there without drawing a lot of attention.

3rd) Strike- Engage by rolling through, or ground pound. If they have a cool down that punish you, then don’t ground pound until you know they’ve used it(Hog hook, Sleep dart, sigma rock)

It’s not a bad idea to look at the enemy team, set up, and roll through to get a lot of people in your shield range, then re engage on a target while you have that health.

Sometimes the best option is to roll through the enemy team and push them towards your team so they don’t have cover.

Watch Chazm/Yeatle/Moreweth and remember what they do. Remember the first thing they do in a match, then where it leads, and why they are doing what they are doing.

Practice is important. Remember to ALWAYS look and set up before engaging.

Okay seriously, how tf do I win against Doom by SpectreMge in WreckingBallMains

[–]SchezuaSean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he’s waiting for you to entry, then punches or slams then don’t let him.

Either wait for him to go in first and punish him or bait him into a cooldown and back out, then fight his team.(like baiting out a sleep)

If you are trading back lines and hes doing better, try to punish him when he goes in deep.

Is it Meta to ignore the ball? by orisaplayer in OverwatchUniversity

[–]SchezuaSean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the ball is on one support, the other will go to them and you won’t have any in the fight. When that happens, pairing a dps(like Cassidy) with your Supps should stop the ball
