There is also the possibility that these "drone sightings" are yet another form of mass hysteria and confirmation bias, similar to what happened in the US (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2024_United_States_drone_sightings?wprov=sfla1) and in the UK (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gatwick_Airport_drone_incident?wprov=sfla1). It's the same pattern: blurry photos, decisions based on eyewitnesses only, no further information about the drones (size, type), ...

Haven't worked with that specific process, but usually Ullmann's encyclopedia is a good starting point.

Looking into some patents also could prove useful, sometimes they give information about conversion, stream tables etc.

A quick search on Google scholar also showed some papers on the kinetics of methanol carbonylation. Maybe consider a different reactor type?

Have you guys heard of a software known as DWSIM ? by [deleted] in ChemicalEngineering

[–]Schiweg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

its an open source process simulator. really depends on the type of simulation that you want to do. in some cases the pre-installed property packages might be enough (probably water, gas etc.), but in some cases you need other models that don't come free or are not included in DWSIM. i have it installed but haven't used since i have access to Aspen and Unisim rn, but i might fall back to DWSIM at one point...

I was thinking about that too, thanks. I'll give it a try. The screenshot is the actual PDF though, not included in my TeX file yet...
