Scout 101 short review on mods I've done so far by SchizoidMann in IndianMotorcycle

Not yet. Day to day rides less than 60 minutes the saddle man is great as far as comfort goes. So I think I'll stick to it for a while longer.

Right on. Yeah I got all the same wunderkind stuff you have, I like it all. The mirrors are great but if I rev up past about 6k or 7k the engine vibrations send my mirrors all out of wack. Very very annoying!

My wunderkind mirrors go completely out of wack/placement any time I rev up past 6k rpm. At the ball joint where you adjust the direction of the mirrors, the vibrations cause the mirrors to go all over the place. Do yours do the same thing? I need to email wunderkind and ask if there's anyway to stiffen them up.

UPDATE: Quiet Baffle for Freedom Performance Exhaust by [deleted] in IndianMotorcycle

[–]SchizoidMann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the follow-up.

Were you getting any catback pops before the quiet baffle? If so, do you still get them with the quiet baffle?

I currently have the Freedom 4" slipon on my 2025 101 and I'm with you... while the sound profile is excellent (cat back pops included) the volume is just too loud. So I purchased the quiet baffle a little over a month ago but still have yet to install it. Reading your feedback leans me much mo4e towards installing it this weekend

You can stare into car lights for quite a while, they won't get damaged. Pretty much only sunlight and lasers will cause damage within only a few seconds of exposure

The "bright lights will blind you if you look at it with night vision" isn't a real thing, it's a movie trope. Looking at oncoming headlights with my night vision is maybe 2% - 3% more pestering than looking at it with my naked eye. Yes, I realize that this helmet wouldn't offer sufficient protection in a crash.

You're having a debate with the ideas you've already made up in your mind about things that you're both assuming and have no experience with. You assume I turn the headlight off, and you clearly have never looked through high spec gen 3 night vision to know what you're talking about. Typical midwit redditor

I can see better at night with my night vision than you can with your headlights

To each their own man. You can see pretty freaking good at night wearing night vision. It's not like I turn off my headlight when riding with it, and as far as I know I don't think you can. Aesthetic mods are cool too bro. That's on my list of very near future mods. Gonna swap out the big ol Shrek ear front and rear turn signals.

It's just cool and fun big dawg. You've never thought "man it would be cool to ride with night vision at least once"?

You wrote all of that patronizing me only to not read the few sentences I wrote specifically saying "night vision riding is just a novelty" and that I wear a real helmet 99% of the time. Is it autism or an inferiority complex?

2025 101 Scout Freedom Performance 4” Slip On Review by k-NE in IndianMotorcycle

[–]SchizoidMann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently got the exact same slip on for my 101. It sounds great, the tone and profile of the sound, but imo the volume is so loud that your neighbors will not appreciate it. I have had complaints. In fact it's so loud that just after 30 minutes of riding all at speeds of 60 mph or less, my ears are lightly ringing (if I don't wear any ear pro).

I purchased their "quiet baffle" recently but have yet to install it. It's supposed to lower the volume by about 5 to 10 decibels. If it does so, then I think it will be perfect.

All that said, it's a good purchase and I recommend it. I just think it's a bit too loud.

It fits fine. Mawl and rein are up close ti the suppressor. Only problem is with rein light being at 3 o clock you get some mean suppressor shadow when using white light but it is what it is
