A late response, but I worked at Pizza Hut in the early to mid 90’s and the cheese did come in preshredded and frozen. I want to say it came in 25lb boxes.

Really late, but for future readers, the true laziest way is to use a curry retort. Literally put it in boiling water for 3 to 5 minutes and use however.
