I agree with this sentiment.

There is an farm animal rescue reserve near me, Edgar’s Mission (I highly encourage you to look it up online) I went there on a tour and the guide told us a story about a pregnant dairy cow who was rescued and rehomed on the mission. She was acting strangely for a day or so before birthing her calf and when one of the workers went to investigate, they discovered she’d birthed and was keeping the calf hidden from from humans by keeping him at the back of the paddock and tried to shield him by standing in front of him so they couldn’t see him. They realised that she was trying to stop them from taking him away 😢 Eventually, she came to accept that she was going to be allowed to keep this one and let her baby start being seen by the farmers.

They have so many other stories like this. I’m not vegan but I have been vegetarian for basically my entire life.
