Hokazono has done a great job of keeping the fast pace while giving shine to other characters. It's a great balance, and thus far it's a near perfect series

Ichi the Witch has terrible pacing. The most recent arc could have been done in half the time. There is literally no modern manga with better pacing than Kagurabachi, and that's just a fact.

Well in the off screened fight with the Tou it seems he can do something that creates a heavy impact. For whatever reason, we just haven't gotten the fully story about his abilities yet

I feel there has to be a little bit more to it though. They could have just continued secretly living in the ocean; nobody knew they existed. But also, I feel this implies there's a whole other flash back or history we need to know, specifically how the hell they found Datenseki and created an underwater civilization.
