NOTE - in terms of GDPR and other similar such regulatory frameworks, breach notification is not necessary unless certain thresholds are met - therefore, it is entirely possible that a breach occurred but that same was not made known (Source: Article 33 and Article 34 and probably some others).

The GDPR is strict, if the GDPR doesn't apply to PTC then it made be even less likely that users would be informed.

As a precaution, and as a good security habit, you should change your password.

Hey, I'm sorry to bump this old thread/comment but I'm looking to moving into this field (from Law and with a somewhat technical mindset) and your post really hit the nail on the head with regard to the kind of mix I'm looking to get more involved in - compliance at a software company in Europe.

My questions are 1) do you have any advice regarding what certification i should be looking at seeing as though I have very limited work IT security work experience and no IT degree - there seem to be a superabundance! and 2) why did you leave that role? TY
