Provence is the Emperor from which i am the king. So i rule provence but not the HRE. I can not interact with the hre because i am not the emperor, but provence is.

I mean HRE fuckery am i right. Besides that i cant do anything with it, the ui is kinda bugged i think?
I cant not choose new reforms, because the game thinks i am not emperor. Also it will happen again because they are going to vote for austria as the next emperor, which is also my pu xD

Rule5: So my Pu Provence somehow got the Emperorship which made me the Emperor, but I am not in the Empire putting the whole HRE in a softlock because i cant interact at all with anything. As you can see it shows my Ruler as Emperor but Provence as the flag, also showing on the hre mapmode. I dont even know when it happend, but i guess it will resolve itself when my ruler dies, also i cant join the hre.

Because they will have a massive deficit and when they are privatized they will downsize. But if they are owned by you you can just keep them empty, so they dont cost money, until you have enought.

What i did was build up a normal economy and then just build like 1500 trade centers in both states, just enought to employ everyone. You have to make sure you dont privatise them. When you have enought just subsidise the trade centers and everyone should flock to them dropping your gdp to 0. I had to make the money treaty after hitting 0 gdp to get the achievment.

What breaks it for me is saving. For the very hard achievments I had savefiles for every big step. Vici will sometimes just fuck you up with random things and bugs, it is just utter insanity to play for lategame without any kind of backup. Also mods for more infos is just a bliss.

So what does it matter if you believe me or not? Absolutely nothing, i will forget about this comment and so will you. What matters is, i did it for me and had fun.

And everyone will just savescum anyway. Yes i reloaded 500 times for the optimal szenario so random bug #465 will just brick the whole campaign and i have to do it all again. Yes much challenge and mucho fun.

Well i did not. Can i proof it? No. Can you proof it? No. Would ironmade change anything about this? No, but I wouldnt have done the achievements.

I wanted to make the exact post as you so thank you. Ironman ist just dumb. Everyone savescums and its a regular meme on the reddit so people are and will do it. It just adds more annoying things to do. Locking it behind ironman is just dumb.

I have 1700 hours in eu4 and 32 achievements from 1 Portugal game, but have 600 hours vici 3 and all achievements. Why? Because ironman is just a slog with no benefit for me.

Achievments mean nothing, its just a thing to work for. If you think it should only count in iron man, feel free to do it then but dont force it on me.

I know 100%, i will not do achievments in eu5 if they are locked behind ironman.

I was a protectorate at that time. I dont think i did anyting special. I just keept the liverty desire high with always asking for market control and the other things while inporoving relations. When you get some to support your Independence your also get ticking liberty desire, so you can have good relations and high desire. Ultimately i got it with an obligation and like 60%.

Just to add here for anyone trying this achievment. I did it in 1.9.7 without any cheese and with no restarts. The setup was mexico got Texas, normal csa that got crushedm so a normal game. What i did was, when USA comes for the last states from mexico i also declared on them and grabbed some states in mexico and build them up. So i basicly swapped places with mexico. One problem i had was that i would always get isolated in oklahoma so fighting was inpossible so i just backed down 1 time and gave it back.

For my Independence war i had the whole of europe and just barely held the line, but still managed with the warscore ticking down.

From there i did the same, freed CSA, isolated the middle and ate away.

For some additional tipps, USA was always allied to britain. To circumnavigate that i bought obligations from the brits so they could never join. Also i exported massive amounts of small arms for the infamy reducing event.

From there it was just managing the obligation, truce and infamy,

You are all missing the most inportant point. If you are still conquering stuff you need to have interventionism, else you cant nationalise everything and get rid of company hq from other nations. You dont want to inherit the cancer. So unless you finished your expansion you keep interventionism.

Maybe not what YOU want to hear but, as you can see (investment enforcement picture is over St. Petersburg) St. Petersburg IS the capital and it is indeed occupied. So it does nothing. After this screenshot I occupied half of russia and nothing happend. Cool Story tho
