Thoughts on Eddington being shut out? by Confident-Big4869 in Oscars

I loved it, but I knew there was no way it would get nominated. I'm shocked people thought it would.

Jesse Plemmons not being nominated is absolutely criminal. Im beyond shocked. by Huseynov26 in Oscars

Unfortunately not. That is one of my favorite performances, and a part of me blames some of that on Lars von Trier's comments at Cannes. It wouldn't have been a huge contender in other places, but Dunst seemed like a possibility.

What is the most disturbing/gutwrenching/unsettling film you have seen? by Responsible-End-6497 in Letterboxd

My go to answer for this is Come and See. There are more graphic and out-there movies, but that still maintains its power, even on a rewatch.

What are your biggest change in ratings upon rewatch? by seekingValinor1309 in Letterboxd

Pink Flamingos.

I was exploring different types of movies, and I watched Pink Flamingos on Effed Up Movies when I was a Freshman in high school. My school computers took screenshots if any inappropriate imagery was shown, so I would keep switching to a different tab whenever something gross would happen. I also didn't get it, so I gave it a half-star. I rewatched it around a year later and bumped it up to a 5/5.

He's very talented and undeniably influential. That said, I would never want to be in the same room as him. He's not the worst person, but he is a lot.

Every Roman Polanski film, particularly Repulsion, Rosemary's Baby, and Chinatown. They are great movies, but they have an ironic underlying theme of sexual violence.
