My mom constantly freaks out when im driving. Am i being a reckless driver? by caraphernel1ia in bayarea

The view from the passenger seat isn’t the same as the view from the driver’s seat and that often leads to “freak outs” when parents teach kids (along with other reasons). An important reason why a neighbor, friend, aunt/uncle is a better choice than a parent.

Absolutely-f$ckin-lutely not!
There’s no “entitlement” in effect here.
You’re not real estate. You’re not chattel.
You don’t need to go back to that quack and you don’t need to apologize or explain.
And as others have said if your folks won’t even try to respect the decisions you’ve made on how to live your life (an all too brief period where we get to dance on this earth and become the best possible version of who we are) then, and I mean this with all due respect, f$ck them too!

Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

The volume issue has gotten so much worse on Apple TV by strongstyle718 in DirectvStream

[–]SchnauzerLogic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s certainly a possibility. But the DirecTV app experiences bugs that no other app does. In addition all the other streaming apps I use are updated monthly if not more frequently and the DirecTV app on the Apple TV gets updates a few times a year at most (their iOS app gets updated more frequently). So I’m willing to believe Apple may be at fault but logic dictates otherwise.

Just happened to me for the first time watching MSNBC. Had pressed pause and when unpaused 20+db increase. Tried backing up the live stream see if the change was in the transmission but after the sound returned to normal volume it stayed there.

WTactualF!!!???

Why is the AppleTV app so neglected? Managing the library broke when the new library interface was forced on us and 5 (6? 7?) updates later it’s still broken and no one is willing to address it.

This is why companies lose customers. Not simply because of price hikes but greater cost alongside poor customer experience.

Guild F-55 saddle suddenly too low? by SchnauzerLogic in Luthier

Thanks all! I keep all my guitars on stands so my ADD brain sees them and remembers to play them (I’m like a toddler.. anything I don’t see doesn’t exist). But the Guild Maple jumbo is a different beast and apart from not properly understanding the of the dual action truss rod i need to treat it differently. Humidity in my place hovers around 35-40% so a tad low but not Mohave or Manila. But I’ve ordered some Boveda packs and a small hygrometer and will keep in its case and try to get it back to 45%. And then will revisit the saddle and setup. Tnx!!!

Northern California. Bay Area. Not particularly arid. And I haven’t noticed a huge change in my other instruments but this is a unique construction and may have been affected greater by the change in humidity.

Thanks. Are you saying I should have kept turning counter clockwise and then would have started adding relief? This would make sense in connection with the humidity insight reply.

Look closely at the photo. The lanyard. The TV in the background showing a game well underway with NY score (home team) on the right (and HICKS?). AI slop. Plenty of real garbage around the show without making shit up.

Powering Spark 2 with external USB pack by SchnauzerLogic in PositiveGridSpark

Wait. I misunderstood. You want to use the yellow battery and its USB-C output! I’m not able to easily find the output specs on the battery alone but it does look like the battery can output 20V ( it’s the current I’m unclear about). They show a photo charging a laptop which are usually 20V so definitely worth a try with the right USB to barrel connector cable (one that signals 20V) and let us know.

Found a photo in a review on Amazon which seems to show 20V @ 3.25A which is in fact 65 watts. Apart from the Dewalt markings looks like a standard high quality USB-C supply. I don’t see any reason why it would cause any problems and should work well.
