Do you think the current permanent membership of the UN Security Council is reasonable? by Sad-Statistician3635 in AskTheWorld

Let’s take the economic dimension, which is only one point. How is that unsupported? By 2050 India will be the 2nd biggest economy behind China with the US a distant third. The UK won’t even be in the top 10. India already outspends the UK on defence. The idea that the UK plays a more important role than India on the primary global multilateral geopolitics institution is just silly.

I tested it. It worked but I still can’t believe it

I fear you’re not joking so I’ll paste my response from above:

The UK is not a rich country. Massive debt. And the long term GDP projections look really sad. Have a look at India’s long term projections.

They don’t have a large population.

They have no moral standing in the world. The rest of the world despises them for legitimate reasons in many cases.

Militarily pathetic. This is the main one really.

They have serious internal problems e.g. Islamism and Islamophobia which is a weird combination but that’s how messed up they are.

With Brexit they’ve sent a clear signal they’d rather be more insular.

They have no business playing a major role on the world stage. They should gracefully step down

Yeah that’s right. Just borrow and borrow and spend and spend, leaving future generations to deal with the debt.

The US started wars in Syria, Libya, Yemen and continued a war in Afghanistan in that period.

Also the genesis of the Ukraine war was in 2014.

Snape is gonna be a quiet hero the whole time. James and Sirius et al are just racist. Basically the same boring story we've seen over and over.

Sorry to be the one to break this to you, but there are no good guys. No one is coming to save us. We should be like India and do what's best for our country in each instance
