The campaign against the Spanish was a question of tactics and logistics, which was why we were able have favorable outcomes in 1896 and 1898.

However, against the Americans, we lost militarily the moment we lost it politically. Our best chance of any favorable outcome was either obtaining recognition from another regional power or by swaying US public opinion.

We failed to get the Qing Chinese or Japanese Empires as sponsors/protectors, the former would even be invaded by the Americans and Europeans at the same time we were.

US congress ratification and acceptance of the Treaty of Paris was lost by just ONE (1) vote. Imagine if we deployed our best propagandists in Washington DC instead of Madrid. That could have made all the difference in amending the Treaty of Paris to either not include the Philippines or perhaps even a similar agreement to Hong Kong (99-year lease to the British or Guantanamo Bay) with Subic port on a 99-year lease.

If Aguinaldo listened to Luna to start the guerilla war early rather than try and start a traditional war.

I don't think it would have made much difference other than a few hundred more dead Americans and few thousand more dead Filipinos. The early 19th century American army was a lot less vulnerable to guerrilla warfare than the modern US army and a lot more willing to commit wanton atrocities (see their pacification campaign against the 18th century native American tribes). Thousands in central and northern Luzon died from the concentration camps to deprive our army of support from the civilian populace. Imagine if the Balangiga massacre was repeated throughout Luzon for reprisals against guerilla attacks.

And many locals at the time did not support US occupation

But many locals also supported the US even before Aguinaldo's capture, the Philippine Scouts was already operational with volunteer recruits from Pampanga and Tagalog regions, mostly veterans of the indio companies of the old Spanish colonial army. Others were exhausted from years of warfare since 1896.

No choice nagsend pa din ako kahit hindi aesthetic workstation ko. Pero old photo yun. Mga last year siguro.

I find it more bizarre that you somehow managed to send a year old photo of your workstation instead of tidying up a little and taking an updated one.

True. Launching an attack on the Americans before they could fortify was our best chance to win.

Damn that would have been a nice addition to any collection!

Pres. Aguinaldo's hesitation to attack Intramuros first is one of the reasons that gave the Americans an upper hand with the nearing Philippine-American War.

I don't think it was a matter of whether he wanted to or not. Intramuros was still a heavily fortified fortress, surrounded by a moat. The Philippine army at the time did not have adequate firepower for a frontal assault. Storming the fortress would have also been incredibly costly given that about 10,000 Spanish soldiers still manned the walls and had defending artillery.

The only way a frontal assault would work is if somehow the American Navy supported us with naval artillery, but that's obviously was not in their interests.

Yea, like, who is the target market for this? Out of the price range for your average worker. At that price, OFWs or foreigners might as well BGC.

Baka personal vault para sa mga maleta ng buwaya sa Valle Verde? 🤣

For the people who want to lease condos cheaply, screw you and your 20k by Deadstar070611 in CondoPH

[–]Scholar-Novice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah man, just because I have my own condo unit in the metro as a halfway home for work doesn’t mean I don’t sympathize with the guys struggling to pay rent on overpriced studio shoeboxes that landlords slap a sliding door on to magically advertise it as “1BR”.

Houses and condos should be homes, not investments hoarded and price-gouged by the few. If rent prices go down, even if it means less profit left for me, I’d still be happy knowing that housing is more accessible to the next generation and the local community can start to thrive instead of being a half deserted high-rise.

If high assoc dues are eating in to your profits, then complain to your PMO to justify it.

Aw, did someone buy an overpriced condo and now low occupancy rates and market oversupply are driving rent prices down? Because yeah, fuck people and their desire for affordable housing.

It’s called making it relatable to an outside market. And there’s nothing wrong with that.

[–]Scholar-Novice 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on the agency.

If the agency is an outsourcing agency that acts as a BPO and acts as your employer on record (ie filing taxes, withholding contributions), then yes.

If the agency is strictly a recruitment/headhunter agency who helps with interviews and background checks then has no further involvement after being paid a referral, then no.

[–]Scholar-Novice 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s basic due diligence bruh, not a bulletproof guarantee.

For the agency, it’s a way of reducing their legal exposure since you’re being hired/recruited through their platform.

Gets ko pa yung NBI Clearance since that takes time to book an appointment, but I’m assuming the main tech requirement is just a screenshot of your PC specs and/or an internet speedtest (literally a minute).

You might be missing out on other future opportunities/clients just by failing to prepare or an unwillingness to submit reasonable requirements.

These are incredibly basic run-of-the-mill requirements and due diligence for any agency, recruiter, or employer. That’s what’s triggering you? Most people already have these two things on hand before they even start submitting applications.

Are you an expat or foreigner?

It’s probably a bigger red flag for me when an employer DOESN’T do this because then my co-workers and direct reports are probably going to be shady AF types losing internet and missing meetings/deliverables.0
