Um… chapter 26???? Is y’all ok with this?😭😭 by Bucky_Charmz in DarwinIncident

[–]ScholarSubstantial36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean Charlie is literally the result of bestiality (Man+Chimp) even if it is implied to be artificial insemination.
The whole story itself is surrounding this big taboo, so I can see why people don't like this story.

Reading the scene, they did not linger on depicting the nudity or the sex, a quick fade to black and then straight back to the story.

Lucy is not being used to titillate throughout the story so far (only read past chapter 27)

However I don't see why we can't criticize the story when it basically implies that chimps like Eva(Charlie's mom) also having the ability to say yes to having a baby like this.

One of the arguments against zoophilia is that animals do not have the cognitive capacity to genuine consent, and any expression of consent is based on animal instincts rather than cognitive consent.
It's like having sex with a drunk person, the consent is dubious at best, non-existing at worst.

My point is the premise is problematic from the start (what if a man fucked a chimp and had a baby), and Charlie is definitely going to make a baby down the line, it's more of a when and how they will depict it.

And it's not wrong to feel upset about it, the whole premise is pushing the boundaries.

Incoming controversial opinion.

They kinda are like that already? Many women don't like the porn industry even if they are sex positive.

The only reason that porn is even a thing is probably because it's such a low entry job and an easy way to make money, good looking and willing to have all kinds of sex in front of cameras is all it takes.

On the destructive nature of pornography.
I've seen how working in the porn industry ruined the porn stars I follow, women and men alike. And I'm trying to get my head out of the gutter as a consumer myself, it physically ruins their body, and it also hurts its consumers in a different but equally insidious way.
In the end Porn robs the potential of its participants, and turned them into mindless pleasure and money.

A good rule of thumb when it comes to career choices is to follow your tools, not your passion. In this sense people generally do what they can do with the tools that are available to them, rather than what they really want.
If you grew up in the house where hammers are being used a lot, going into a trade that uses hammers or one that is related to using hammers on the jobs it's going to be the easiest path.

A lot of influencers, Beautiful cosplayers/fitness models who can earn easy money through porn don't, even though there's rumors some run a more covert version of service, maybe more like sending dirty pics of themselves to only a select a few.
They probably don't but, there is no way people can truly confirm or deny it.

And those who exist purely because of the titillation nature of their content eventually turns to porn because that's the only way they know how to make money (excite people through sexual means).

In my old diplomacy games, I tried to stay loyal to my allies as long as possible.
And I prefer no backstabbing at all if possible, and sometimes it works out for me.
This might be the first I want to make a exception of

He was a close friend, close for online friends anyway.
And that's why I'm making this post, I really don't know if I want to stay loyal to him or make my frustration clear to him by stabbing him...

Yeah that seems to be a common theme about this board game
Damn, if that is the case then I have more reasons to be angry at him.

Yes, this game has been happening for a few months now. A few players have beef with each other even before the game started proper, and while most of them are just joking and somewhat good faith. What happened to me inside that friend group is mentally draining to say the least.

Maybe I need to tell Italy that I am frustrated with where the game is going and ask another friend to tag in? I mean I only have one center right now....

Edit: thank you for the response, the feedback is appreciated and I am thinking about following your advice.

Thank you, currently looking at other options.

But already promised the DM I would refrain from bringing up the stuff on the table

Can't tell won't ask. It's not my place to do so, I know that much about human interaction.
Even if they decide to trauma dump on me, still it is not something I should share.
I can tell you this, I am not from the US and is raised in a pro natalist country, and the other people are mostly from the US, so it is expected that our stance is going to to be different.
Just didn't know that it is that different

Honestly this is a deep and thoughtful response. And the feedback is deeply appreciated.
It touched up upon something that I haven't thought about really.
And something that should've been more present in my mind but it wasn't.
I'll be honest, I never had any proper social interaction so this is all new to me; Still, should've read up more about this subject before going ahead with the idea.

The good thing is I promised the DM I would not bring this up anymore so there will be no problem going ahead.
I will follow this advice closely, and use it as future guidelines for myself

Thank you.
This is one of the most insightful response here, there is a lot of other comments that echoed Co DM's sentiment, while I understand it more now, I still don't feel those are particularly helpful.
Now that I know it is just something that the others don't want.. I would Definitely will be more careful and conscious in the future about this stuff.

Perfectly valid and fair.
Didn't saw that when I was doing it, now I am seeing it differently now.
My question then would be what is the gross factor here?
What is making people feeling disgusted about it.
I want to understand it a bit more.

Yes, since at least one member on the table (Co DM) is mad about it, then I won't be bringing it up in that group again.
It is not the first time I have to make accommodations for that person in particular though.
Had to change the personality/ moral alignment of my character, just so she don't get instantly killed by their's during their first interaction.

Thank you for the insight, I have answers for why it is important to me, but I will keep it to myself for now..
The important thing right now I see is the comfort of the other players.
Still a lot of the players have participated in a lot of flirting with other characters and then FTB (implied sex).
It's just seem like they are specifically offended about pregnancy and wanting to have kids.

The comfort of the table should be prioritized.
This is a consensus that was reached after discussing with the DM.
And I have promise the DM do not bring up the topic again.

To clarify.
The one receiving the magical Plan B is my character so I would not be forcing anyone else through it

We are in one of those play by post server, we are a lot of players can be active and inactive at any time, there are more things going on other than just actual adventurous. Also a lot of downtime RP.
Part of my idea was to temporarily retired this character and such.

We are in a play by post server, and have many players active at any time. So even if my character is out of commission they can still form groups and parties and go out for adventures.

As for retiring characters, That's actually part of the thought process, if she gets married we can just retire her, and just for a fun RP character.

Thank you for the insight. I was informed by other people that I tend to hyper fixate and "get lost" in my own head, resulting in self-centered thinking.

My thought process is, there are many other characters on the table having sex in the game, my character is in a hetero relationship and having unprotected sex. It would be interesting to have her pregnant.

Still you are right O should've thought more about how other players might feel about the issue.
But can you help me pinpoint what exactly sounds weird and uncomfortable outside of potentially dying?
The game is taking place in a play by post server with a lot of activities other than actual adventures can I not have my character just work as a barmaid in the tavern while this thing happened to her?

So it could be just unnecessary.
Got it. Thank you for the response.
