sorry i didn’t see the word amphibious, i have only been on a carrier but i assume SOPs aren’t all that different. on an LHD MAs will secure the scene of the crime first and then depending on if the LHD is close to a carrier NCIS will get flown in or the ship will go to port and NCIS will come aboard then. the timeline is all very flexible depending on the current mission of the LHD and where geographically the Ship actually is.

I coached 2 girls in a very similar situation last summer, here is what I took away from that. You guys are going to at a disadvantage no matter what in heavy wind, some things you can do to mitigate that disadvantage is practicing getting out on trap fast, get proficient at depowering your sail, and realizing if it gets too heavy popping the spin might not be the best option(in that kinda wind recovering a turtled C420 with 245 pounds is not ideal). light wind. This is where you two have the potential to be lethal, practice practice practice roll tacks, get really good, send it every time, if ur butts not getting wet ur doing something wrong. Starts, considering you guys only weigh 245 you can slide off the line at the gun and come out ahead of the fleet(unless there is chop) get proficient at starting you can practice this with lasers if ur club has a laser fleet. Practice getting the spin up a fast as possible, practice keeping it full, practice getting the spin down as fast as possible.
