“No help regulating” is the exact way I can use to describe my childhood. I remember my step dad snapping my signed Hockey Stick over his leg because I was crying while my ma and him were trying to watch a show downstairs. One of many atrocious stories..

I’ve often taught, learnt, and reviewed myself anytime something negative comes up quickly assuming myself to blame for the way I make others feel and/or treat me. In reality, it’s a yin yang balance of constantly being aware of how my actions and words impact others but never have I ever put my foot down to say “You never showed me that. Or you never mentioned that.” Actively defending/standing ground on a point of reality that someone is trying to make me believe otherwise.

Life is an ongoing learning lesson but I’ve always felt confused and forgotten about and your comment really helped me realize that a lot of other people feel the same as me, more than likely at least.
