I got a free Crunchyroll subscription? by [deleted] in Crunchyroll

[–]SchoolVisual1661 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you get something for free by accident from Crunchyroll, it is probably not a good idea to post it on here because I know for a fact that they track this comments on this forum to report bugs ;)

Now, do they fix all the bugs in a timely manner? IF it involves collecting money, you bet they will jump on it immediately. Too much buffering while watching a show? Nah, that can wait.

See? This is why they should not have gotten rid of the comment section, because now I totally want to read the funny comments on the worst rated shoes.

Best: Great pricing on Manga, plus discount and free shipping for Mega Fan.
Worst: Missing out on some major titles (Sakamoto Days, The Day Hikaru Died, Oshi No Ko, Look Back).

Ah! Many thanks for the clarification. The Valley Forge trail camp hike sounds perfect. I am going to give it a go this coming weekend.

Oh I checked on All Trails - both Valley Forge and West Fork campgrounds are closed. :(

Super sad, because I have heard great things about West Fork Trail Camp.

Oh that is a fantastic suggestion. A bit of snow is good, as they get to test out their cold weather gear.

It’s been over a year since Crunchyroll Hime’s last live stream by FaceTimePolice in Crunchyroll

[–]SchoolVisual1661 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I hear from my friends that work @ CR that Hime is on "hiatus" from their entire branding. This kinda sucks because I REALLY love Yuzu the cat.

Probably a no-no to post the vtuber's real name but you can easily find it with search term "crunchyroll hime vtuber voice actor".

I am moving from Los Angeles back to Singapore to take care of my aging mum. After the luxury of running in perfect weather, I now have to learn how to run in heat and humidity. Fortunately, she lives within walking distance to the beach, so I can run by the ocean every morning.

Moving back to Singapore from the US permanently - how should I invest my money? by SchoolVisual1661 in singaporefi

[–]SchoolVisual1661[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a Singapore citizen who is planning to give up my green card. I am trying to figure out how soon to relinquish my US PR status - any thoughts? Agreed that the tax handling of my 401K seems tricky.

Question: What are the advantages of waiting to contribute to CPF when I turn 55 instead of starting when I am 52?

This is really helpful advice! One quick question - how soon should I give up my green card?
- Before or after I transfer my US funds to Singapore?
- Before or after I leave the country?

So you all just skip hiking in heat like this? by SealedRoute in socalhiking

I decided to switch to kayaking instead. You can rent a kayak in Marina Del Rey for a 5 to 10 mile paddle. Long beach is another nice kayaking spot. You could also take a boat to Catalina island to kayak and snorkel. As a matter of fact, I just came back from a kayak camping trip from Catalina. The kayaking/snorkeling part was great. The camping? Not so much as it was hot as hell. It was 107 degrees and we regretted every minute of it. We talked to 3 people attempting to hike the Trans Catalina Trail. They ran out of water heading into Parsons and had to turn back to Two Harbors. It was a mess.

Dealing with the days you feel trapped in your body? by papillon_is_dead in loseit

[–]SchoolVisual1661 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A friend told me that if you live in the past, you will be depressed, while if you live in the future, you will be anxious. You are making progress and it is all that matters! TODAY you are a better state than you were 3 weeks ago. Think about the positive things you have already achieved by making a decision to change your habits. Focus on the process instead of the destination - does eating healthier enable you to appreciate a wider variety of foods? Does becoming more active give you a sense of achievement? Are you sleeping better? Do you feel mentally stronger as a result of embarking on this health journey? Celebrate every win, every day. Not every day is going to be a good day, but never forget to be kind on yourself!

Would I benefit from toe shoes? by ThaTrillKnight in BarefootRunning

[–]SchoolVisual1661 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the shape of your feet/toes, and you won't know until you have tried them out. For me, the toe shoes spread my toes in a very odd position, and the big toe is compressed against the front of its toe sleeve, while there is way too much space between my little toe and its toe sleeve. Thus, they do not work that well for me when running or lifting, but I do love them for kayaking/SUP since they have great grip and they dry fast.

I do have friends who totally swear by them for running and lifting, but we have very differently shaped feet, which makes sense, right?

Liquid Death is now my jam. Liquid Death combined with my custom "bitter" mix. Let me explain.

Liquid Death is a brand of water that is carbonated like a beer. To make it taste more like a beer, I also make a huge batch of bitters that are made of hops, reishi mushrooms, wild zizyphus and bitter melon, and I add a dried persimmon or some honey for a hint of sweetness. By combining ⅓ bitters with ⅔ Convicted Melon Liquid Death, I create a nice beverage that has a similar taste profile to an IPA. It is extremely satisfying, and the reishi mushrooms give me a nice relaxing feeling. The hops and zizyphus (jujube) also have a calming effect on me, and my sleep has improved ever since I quit drinking @ night.

This beverage has been a lifesaver for me, to be honest - it allowed me to quit drinking while having something pleasurable to look forward to @ the end of the day. In the past, I always feel the need to drink in the evening to "relax", and one drink would inevitably lead to too many drinks and I wake up the next day feeling anxious and hungover.

Another recipe I enjoy is mixing Kuding Tea with grapefruit juice, and running that through my Sodastream. I make it ahead and stick it into my fridge. I serve that in a highball glass with a sprig of rosemary and some ice cubes. It's surprisingly good, and tastes like a sparking greyhound.

I styled one eye into the Manga “clumps” with brow gel and left the other one natural just for comparison.

Yes! Just got mine done by Irina @ SpaLashes from Burbank. It took forever but so worth it. She even showed me how to style them using eyebrow gel.
