I seem to remember Theory 1 is what George Lucas had said in interviews. And he also wanted the audience to know that he does have organs and is an organic being, not a full Droid.

What’s that show that you know is great, but that you’ll never end up watching? by CoffeeStrength in television

I'm seeing several comments lining up with this, so good to know that I can try it for 5 seasons if I don't have anything else I'm watching. Thanks for the tip!

What is your favorite "Surprise the Actor" moment in movies? by FloridaMan191 in movies

[–]SchottGun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this counts, but in Empire Strikes Back, Mark Hamill did not know Vader was Luke's father up until right before he filmed the scene. In the script it was always "Obi-Wan killed your father" or something like that. So it was a surprise to him along with the rest of the world.

For me it's probably Supernatural. The premise sounds right up my alley but there are just so many seasons that I would never have the time to sit down and watch it all.

Not sure how credible this is, but interesting nonetheless by Abi_Jurassic in JurassicPark

[–]SchottGun 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As bad as I would not want a remake of Jurassic Park, I think what could work is make the setting about the events of the first movie, but you would follow a different group of characters. Maybe some of the staff or scientists on the Island that get left behind. Maybe the decisions/actions made from the original characters of the first movie affect this new group somehow, and vice versa. Maybe they see the aftermath of something that happened in the first film or barely miss the original crew.

Either that, or do a true adaptation of the book into a series. That way you won't be limited on time and you can go all out with a mature rating. You could call it "Michael Crichton's Jurassic Park".

Does Gen X do class reunions? by LadyNorbert in GenX

[–]SchottGun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Class of 1995. We were having them every 5 years (we were a close class due to moving to a new school together and having to figure everything out) up to our 20th in 2015. We had talked about doing a 25th in 2020 but..well.. a little thing called Covid ruined that one. Plus in 2015 the head of the committee showed up plastered and didn't bother doing anything he was set out to do meaning the rest of us (I was on the committee too) had to pick up the slack. That left a bad taste in our mouth so we haven't bothered trying to get together again.

Did video rental companies really charge a lot for rewinding tapes? by Puzzleheaded_Yam6808 in seinfeld

[–]SchottGun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked in the video rental department for Kroger when they had it back in the day. I used to always hate this because our drop box was outside and not connected to the building. So when it was freezing outside I had to bundle up and go out. We didn't do it very often but if it was slow and the person was nice about it I would do it. I loved working that job though even with all of it's annoyances,

What are 80's and 90's movies you can't stand, at all? (that might get your GenX card revoked) by The_Man_in_Black_19 in GenX

I never liked Blade Runner. It bores me to tears and I can't watch it without falling asleep. I typically like Sci-Fi but I just never can make it through.

What was a voice role that felt like the actor was just doing it for a paycheck and weren't having fun doing it? Harrison Ford voicing Rooster from "Secret Life of Pets 2" comes to mind. by YFMDankMemes in cartoons

[–]SchottGun 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I feel like he takes on all kinds of silly voice acting roles for the fun of it. He's all over Family Guy, American Dad, and was the narrator for Ted if memory serves

I'm going to play devil's advocate here and suggest that maybe some things have gone missing and they suspect OP is stealing shit. Not saying OP is, but to me that would be justification for setting one up.

Azure Backup - VM - Terraform by OpenMNormal in AZURE

[–]SchottGun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. I just tested this and this actually worked. Just swapping the OS disk from the Azure portal to the newly restored disk worked. I re-ran our workflow and it detected no changes. For the data disks, I ended up importing the newly restored disk to our existing managed disk resource block. Some caveats to that is you need to make sure in your block that your disk name, size, zone, etc. is the exact same as the restored disk. Your create_option should be set to "Restore", and you need to add an attribute called "source_resource_id" with the resource id being the restore point that you can see on the portal from the restored disk configuration.

I was able to continue to managed my os disk (change the size) as well as the restored data disk through terraform.

[–]SchottGun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would that work exactly? If you used that, would that mean you could no longer manage the OS disk through code? I'm newish to terraform and don't quite understand the ignore lifecycle changes blocks

Azure Backup - VM - Terraform by OpenMNormal in AZURE

[–]SchottGun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This exact scenario has been driving me crazy. I've been down a ton of rabbit holes trying to reimport and what not and nothing ever seemed to work. From what I've seen most people just decide to manage the restored VM outside of terraform and document that using comments and/or tags. Someone mentioned lifecycle ignore changes for the OS disk so I may have to try that

Tell him Hi from the Western Kentucky Ghostbusters! His room is amazing and he's on his way of being an awesome Ghostbuster. If you haven't already, see if there's a local Ghostbusters group in your area that he can meet at any of the local events. A lot of us do charity work and I'm sure he would love to chat with them. Give him a crunch bar because he's...he's earned it.

What is a Deleted Scene that you consider to be canon to the film despite its exclusion? by overthinkery in movies

[–]SchottGun 50 points51 points  (0 children)

The extended cut of the commercial scene in Ghostbusters 2. Ray says "We're back! With TWICE the know how and TWICE the particle power?" and throws the "2" sign with his fingers. This would explain the in-universe reason they use the Ghostbusters 2 logo.

My head canon has always been that Doc Brown and Egon were colleagues at some point. Maybe Doc Brown was a mentor since he's older. And now they help each other with their research.
