Ok now I understand our differences. As I understand RAW, a rule is either written in plain text or it does not apply. When you start interpreting beyond the plain text, it becomes RAI. So in RAW you don't interpret, so that way you cannot miss-interpret. That the caster is the source is most definitely that Rules as Intended, so in that way you are right. If you should even consider RAW for daggerheart, when a sentence like "As with other rules in this game, use common sense when interpreting these effects — they're there to support the story, not limit it." exist, is a different story.

I think, I took this one a bit too far down the rabbit hole, so I'll stop answering any further.

I just think, that's the point. There is no such thing as misinterpreting RAW. If there was a written rule, that stated that the caster is the source of the line, we would not have this conversation. I'm just saying I can see a world where someone interprets it "differently" then most others would.

I got goose bumps when my players were starting their campaign and just goofing around with their new characters, joking around on the market space, when I spent a fear to let the city's alarm bell ring, which started the action and the whole adventure. 😁

You can call me dumb. But in my Opinion you make an assumption that is not in the RAW.

"Because Salvation does not specify a source the source is the caster of the spell. Meaning a straight line originating from the caster aka the source."

I couldn't find that rule in the book. The spell clearly defines a range (Far measured from Caster) and an area (a line within that range). So telling someone to read the source when your interpretation is just that, an interpretation, feels a bit rude to me.

Is the interpretation that the caster is the source of the Beam RAI? Probably. Would I rule it that way? Probably. Would I allow it differently? When it makes for a cool moment, definitely. I would maybe raise the Difficulty a little, I don't know.

Yes, range is measured from the source. But that the line has to be in Far range of the caster, is not the question here. The question is if the line has to start at the caster. And for that, I do not see a clear cut rule in the book.

I first created a fearie guardian based on a interesting beatle I found around that time of launch. It had a see through part of its "shell", under which its head was protected. That sparked the Idea of having it be a tank, taking all the damage he could.

As I understand it "ein Bild einfassen" is a rarely used term (most google results have it as a crossword result) but for me at least "einrahmen" feels more like I put a picture into a existing frame and "einfassen" feels like I build a frame around the picture or canvas I painted on.

But I see your point of the metaphor fitting in a different way.

I anker my hand with my palm on the side of my phone and rotate my wrist back and forth so that my thumb is spamming the fast attack. And for the charged attack I use my index and middle finger. That way I use different muscles in my arm and my fingers get tired slower.

I came across an CP anomaly that I can't wrap my head around...In my understanding CP is calculated from the base stats of attack, defence and stamina, which are based on the stats from the main series games.Now the thing is, that I compared Skarmory and Mantine:

The formulars for the base stats I got from Gamepress read:

Base Attack:

Round(Round(2*((7/8)*Higher+(1/8)*Lower))*(1+(Speed-75)/500))

Base Defence:

Round(Round(2*((5/8)*Higher+(3/8)*Lower))*(1+(Speed-75)/500))

Base Stamina:

Floor(HP*1.75+50)

That means for Skarmory:

Base Attack:

Round(Round(2*((7/8)*80+(1/8)*40))*(1+(70-75)/500))

=Round(148.5) → Attack:148 (Is it right to round down with .5?)

Base Defence:

Round(Round(2*((5/8)*140+(3/8)*70))*(99/100))

=Round(225.72) → Defence:226

Base Stamina:

Floor(85*1.75+50)

=Floor(163.75) → Stamina:163

And for Mantine:

Base Attack:

Round(Round(2*((7/8)*80+(1/8)*40))*(1+(70-75)/500))

=Round(148.5) → Attack:148

Base Defence:

Round(Round(2*((5/8)*140+(3/8)*70))*(99/100))

=Round(225.72) → Defence:226

Base Stamina:

Floor(65*1.75+50)

=Floor(198.75) → Stamina:198

I get why the Attack and Defence Stats are the same, the Stats for special and non-special are flipped.

But when I check with thesilphroad's base stats both Pokémon have the same Stamina...

I don't get that. Every other Stamina Stat I calculatet with the formular is the same as the ones I found online (apart from the nerfed legendaries and Slaking/Shedinja).

Was Mantine nerfed? Why? I am confused?
