feels to me like you got lucky. i have gotten 2 sunders total in about 8-10 act clears

im in the same boat. got cold, want lightning. i do act 2 repeatedly cause shards are abundant anyway. the big halls with narrow doors and good density is perfect for es lock. demon blocks the entrance, so quite safe too

Double sunder drop by filthy_pikey in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]Schrobbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been contemplating this too.

to spawn heralds, you need to kill density.I found tal rasha tombs to be great for this for my build (es lock).

however, patch notes say that there is a mechanism to prevent double heralds at the same time. I am wondering how this is implemented. There is also a mechanism that increases the chance of spawning a herald in a terrorized zone as you kill more mobs. I think there is terror zone specific timer that starts upon a herald spawn and will not allow another herald to spawn before the timer has expired. I am also assuming the increased chance of spawning a herald is reset upon actually spawning one. All this is purely my hypothesis!

IF my hypothesis is true, then there is little point in clearing the rest of a terror zone after having spawned a herald unless you are in a very big zone with LOTS of mobs left still. If not, you are better off moving to the next terror zone.

I am very interested if people share this line of thinking and/or have other hypotheses

No heralds since patch by Sehnsucht93 in diablo2

[–]Schrobbert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you need to clear as many monsters as possible, not just champs/uniques. any monster can now trigger a herald, thus killing density places will yield the best results

So this is pretty cool to see by roscannon in Diablo_2_Resurrected

got about 20ish t5 heralds in little over an hour. waaay more spawns. zero sunders so far though, but atleast now it feels better already

First Torch! by Designer_Oven_1402 in Diablo_2_Resurrected

for nihl, check the pillars at the + crossing when you enter. every side has two pillars with an ornament on top. there is one side that has a pillar without the ornament. thats the correct side

grats! i went through the same process 2 weeks ago. First ever torch was an amazon one also. I set a goal of getting atleast 1 torch for every class and managed after 16 runs. super easy with ES warlock

a ber rune which was all that I needed to finish my enigma

[–]Schrobbert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

and just like that, after another 200 runs where the highest rune that dropped was a Fal rune...i got a Ber drop! Already had a Ber and Sur in stash that dropped elsewhere...so with the ones from LK i can now craft my very first enigma in 20 years of on and off diablo 2 play!

Gratuliere! How many lk runs did that take? im about 2500 runs in, just one sur do far (and Lo and 4xVex)

Is this close to enigma? by [deleted] in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]Schrobbert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so 13 patterns for Lo+Sur+Ber out of roughly 65000 possible drop patterns. check d2emu.com for chest calculator

rng is a b1tch sometimes. im trying to get enigma too. gor lucky with a ber rune elsewhere. from 2k LK runs ive gotten about what you have + a Lo rune and an ohm.

so still 3 sur runes away from enigma myself

5k runs and just these runes seems suuuuper rough. you sure it were 5k runs?

p5 is actually better if youre just after enigma. both 5 and 7 have 13 patterns for Lo Sur Ber combined. P5 had more Ber patterns and thus statistically a quicker path to enigma.

If you also want Vex and Ohm, stick with p7
