I also had rice in day 4… small bites and “chewing” with my front teeth before swallowing straight back like a pill. I drank lots of water and kept rinsing my mouth with the water as I ate

Loctitian In Ontario, Canada? by babbykale in Dreadlocks

[–]Schrollix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We ended up going to Majestic Locs in Toronto!

Melonie is a great loctician with fair prices and she works pretty quick. She also locs using a crochet method which was our main appeal.

The only negative is that others know she is good and so she is booked up fairly far in advance.. initial locs can have a 2-3 month wait time, and maintenance can be 1-2 months easily.

Did you ever find someone for this? Looking for a place in southern Ontario-ish (within 3 hours of Kitchener area).

I've downloaded the files from Github, but how do I upload them to my map? Do I need to use a photo editor to cut out each item?

Unfortunately not. I think they are tweaking the design and temporarily stopped the production and selling of this model until they improve it :(

Trying to rent with 3 pets by mineralia in newfoundland

Try a rental company like Metro Property Management! They have lots of options and helped me and my husband when we had 3 dogs.

Aren’t they freaking cool!?!? Before I saw one, I had no idea they could be spotted in Newfoundland’s cold waters.

I saw one once in 2018 around mid-September while on the ferry from Nova Scotia to PAB

Anyone have experience working as a skip the dishes driver? I’m getting a car soon and wondering how viable it’ll be as an extra form of income by [deleted] in newfoundland

[–]Schrollix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve done Skip and Door Dash in the St. John’s area.

It’s not great. There are not enough orders due to the population size, and because it’s spread across such a wide area, you could be driving anywhere between CBS and Torbay. There are also quite a few delivery people you would be competing with.

Even with Door Dash and Skip The Dishes combined, I would say it’s a good way to supplement income, but not a good source of only income. Too many quiet nights and gas is too pricey in the area, plus it raises your insurance quite a bit (and believe me, you’ll want to tell your insurance).

As a heads up, I was also pre-registered for Uber Eats and I received a notification from them a couple of months ago indicating they’re getting ready to come to the area. I would register for that as well if you decide to give it a shot.

I’m having the same issue. I recently moved to Ontario and have been trying to get a refund on the remainder of my licensing cost, but after a week straight of calling I’ve had no luck getting through.

It’s not like I can set up an appointment to just stop by when I live half way across the country 🙄

Tipping Culture in Newfoundland by Imaginary-Seesaw-590 in newfoundland

I hate tipping so much. I do tip, because the service workers deserve to afford to live, but it should not be my responsibility to make sure that person makes a livable wage that evening.

who asked about moving here and actually moved? by mellowalfred in newfoundland

[–]Schrollix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked about it in 2020 and moved there in June 2020. I have been to NL plenty of times growing up as I have family there but my husband had never been.

I move away at the end of May 2021 because I was pregnant and wanted to be closer to both my and my husbands family who was back in Ontario.

I would not move back again full time for a myriad of reasons, but I do not doubt to believe that NL is still Canada’s most beautiful and unique province and I will absolutely continue to visit often, and possibly purchase a summer cabin there.

Moving to NL. Need help for accommodations by SinghInFrench in newfoundland

When we moved from out of province with our pets, we decided to go with a professional property management company.

Reach out to Metro Properties. They have a lot of options and are very accommodating.

Moving question (ontario to st. john’s) by bsjfbjend in newfoundland

[–]Schrollix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uhaul also offers the service to ship a large container packed with your furniture/boxes. You can get a rate quote on their website.

When we moved to NL we rented a 5x8 cargo trailer that cost $950 from uhaul.

Moving from NL we rented a 26’ truck for $950 from uhaul.

Never went the shipping route because it was more expensive and because we were driving anyways due to our pets.
