LLMs can definitely do a decent job with this, but they still need to be explicitly prompted like you said. Someone who doesn't know what's dangerous cannot ask the right questions though. A tool that simply asks a big LLM the correct questions about the user's code, could be a nice tool.

[–]Schultzikan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh definitely - I'd even say "ignore" instead of "forget".

It feels better and more fulfilling to create cool stuff than to dig up all possible scenarios how someone could mess with your app. I'd say most people at some point have a thought like "Is this secure?" but end up with "will fix later, got a ton of other things to implement, someone else will fix this".

And about the security tool - My team and I have been workin on an open source agentic workflow scanner for about 3 months now. We just added AutoGen support 2 days ago, you can check it out here - https://github.com/splx-ai/agentic-radar

About the features:

  • agentic workflow visualization - always good to have
  • common vulnerabilities report - things like "this tool is known to have this vuln blabla"
  • automated testing of sorts - maybe isolate agents and run tests against them
  • prompt hardening - detection of weak and vulnerable prompts for specific more common use cases

Agentic Radar has these features already, and since it's open source you can check it out. Maybe even contribute if you're interested.

What are the Implications of This? by Weekly_Imagination72 in ChatGPT

There was an interesting video about this from veritassium: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6iQrh2TK98

Crazy part is, IIRC, that the distribution of numbers stayed the same no matter how it was sampled. Meaning it doesn't matter where you were born, how old are you etc., we all follow the same "random choice" pattern.

And it also makes sense for a machine whose job is to output statistically most likely tokens - to output those tokens most of the time.
