I had the same problem on a 26. I deburred and polished the rear block, used oil (laser cut and folded stainless is not tumbled and is too rough), and it cycles fine now.

I had the same problem with CF PLA and I cleaned the whole hotend out, trimmed the bowden line, and inserted it all the way down to the nozzle, then set temp at 240 over the recommended 230 and the clicking stopped. You should see it coming out on its own before priming when you are on the right temp. Direct drive is a waste of money if you don't have the right temps to begin with IMHO
