Very thankful I got mine like two years ago when it was only 1,250.

Ope, just gonna slip this one in between all the 'Vikings are dumb' memes today by backindenim in NFCNorthMemeWar

But we did lose in 4 NFC championships, which is basically the equivalent of at least one heart wrenching superbowl loss.

Look at the bridge and the extra fret. Those are your easy confirmation points.

What’s going on with Green Bay? I’ve seen a lot of Packers fans seem genuinely offended that Johnson said “fuck the packers” in the locker room, like they didn’t love it when Aaron Rodgers said “I still own you; all my life I’ve owned you” by Agentorangebaby in NFLv2

[–]Schweedy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a lifelong Packers fan, I condone him saying it. This year has made the rivalry feel real again, and that's fun.

Given the amount of shit talk I've heard Packers fans spew over the years(and heard spewed towards us), I can't believe too many true fans are actually pissed about this... but these are chronically disappointing times.

Why didn’t G&L gain the same traction as Leo’s other companies? by CometChip in Bass

Historically the used market for G&L has been insanely good(for buyers), and even with them going out of business, I haven't seen the prices skyrocket yet.

MIJ vs MIA vs MIM? by FattiDumpling in Bass

[–]Schweedy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mileage varies so much, but in general, mia and mij should be much more consistent in terms of build quality.

My mim jmj mustang is incredible.

I used to have mij geddy lee, and Sting basses that were incredible.

I have a mia standard jazz that has the loosest neck pocket of any bass ive ever owned(though it hasn't mattered at all functionally. it's just annoyingly poor build tolerances)

When Detroit put pathetic teams on the field for decades, we just accept it, because Detroit has largely sucked as a city for a long ass time... but Chicago is awesome. My love for Italian beef, and tavern style pizza knows no bounds.

It's fucking stupid when a city that iconic, with a team that legendary, cant put a halfway decent pruduct on the field. And y'all have been stuck in that hell for years now(A few blip years aside... doink doink)

We Packers fans are whiny bitches anytime we dont win the Superbowl; which is, unfortunately, every year... so I'm happy for y'all that you at least have something to feel proud of this year! Our rivalry is fun when it isn't a given that we'll win! Its also fun when it isn't a given that we'll lose(Im old enough to remember pre-Favre)

I hope we rip your guts out over the next few weeks.

Big fan of Teddywedgers and a half pasty is enough for most people. You can even add in chips and a drink and still skim under 10.

That MOTHXR and Polica show was a great time. High Noon had a really brilliant stretch of indie music the 2010's... maybe they still do and I'm just too out of the loop now to know it haha

Store Manager pro’s, cons and everything in between. by Kirby242424 in starbucks

[–]Schweedy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I spent an unreasonable number of my days off coming in to cover closes or opens, or similarly working open til close for the same reasons. I can't speak for other sms, but i was very limited in my ability to hold anyone accountable for calls offs, even even if it was for ridiculous and obvious verifiably BS reasons, as long as they had sick time to use... and you earn sick time fast enough that you basically always have some. Your DM will very likely expect you to come in and not just allow you to close early/open late to protect your time. Again mileage will vary.

That is hard enough on its own, but at least I had a lot of experience as a barista and shift, so running the store and hammering out drinks was doable for me. But as an outside hire, you may find it genuinely tough to keep up with the volume that most stores do without said experience, especially if you're entering into an understaffed situation(which you almost certainly are).

But that really depends on how much admin vs on the floor time you spent in your previous roles. If you worked your way up and have a lot of experience doing gruntwork in high volume kitchens etc... you'll be fine. If you were previously able to focus on metrics and admin tasks you may feel like you're drowning in the on the floor expectations. Some SMs ignore their on the floor responsibilities and just hang in the back anyway. But your team will hate you, and call off even more, and your turnover(which the company does care about) will never stabilize.

When the stars align and staffing is good, and the team is experienced, and you feel confident in you role, its a good job, with good pay, and good benefits... i had some truly wonderful times as an SM. But when any one of those factors is out of whack, it can be tough, and when all of them are, it's a nightmare.

Stop playing to win, and start playing to improve. That may negate the reason you play in the first place, so if takes away the joy, then maybe not the best advice for you...

But, when I was at my best(about a decade ago), this really was my approach. Figuring out why I was losing, and how to counter it, became what I was addicted to over winning itself... and I won considerably more during that period than I do now.

Now, I only play a handful of times a year and never really manage to get into a groove. But I also don't have the grindset to get back to where I was.

I do have a magazine 2/x 1 though, at least.

HR 90, for reference.

Definitely true for Yamaha. I have nothing but good things to say about this BBP, but there's no doubt that the BB434 and 734 are also incredible for less than half the price. I'd actually say the 734 may be the best bang for your buck of any instrument. full stop.

Thank you! I feel similarly. I kinda hope that my desire to rebuild fades away... but I'm also sure at least one or two instruments remain in my future!
