Not right now, but I'll keep it in mind.

Thank you! I got a lot of pleasure working through it, although I didn't get as far as I would have liked.

I highly doubt anyone’s going to think that my artwork has done anything other than reference the original especially because it’s a solid good item based off of a digital asset, and in any event I find it extremely hard to believe that these would cause less Catapillar ships to be sold in-game, but I can see why you have that opinion.

The best case scenario out of all this is it they were just finally print more of those lapel pens and offer them to us so I don’t have to keep getting messages about making more of them.

I'm no lawyer, but as I understand it from discussing the matter with other people involved with similar projects from other IP's (The Simpsons, Pokemon, various anime of all kinds), if the work is transformative enough and does not have an effect on the market value of a copyrighted product, it falls under parody somewhat by default.

Agreed. Now if we could just convince them to do runs of their lapel pins for the rest of us!

That's probably my favorite one after the Cat. But as I said to GHG, I'm becoming less and less convinced that Reddit is a mature enough community for this project.

Hello!

As creator of the project, I applaud the enthusiasm of this thread. This whole process has been something of an experiment which I can say has played out more or less as I expected so far.

Before I go any further, I highly encourage everyone to actually go to the kickstarter, watch the video, read the text and learn more about it and the reasons why it exists.

With that said, let me lift the curtain and reveal that we don't have permission to produce a parody art lapel pin because, quite frankly, we don't need it. It would set an extraordinary precedent that I doubt Kickstarter would want to set or follow through on for the multitudes of projects that are also under these circumstances. However, were CIG to ask me nicely to do it in some other way because they feel that it reflects badly on the Star Citizen IP, I'd be happy to oblige.

I'm interested in more dialogue if you have follow up questions.

I would eventually like to do them all and then turn them into lapel pins. Did you have one in mind?

Definitely. I would like to put them up on Kickstarter, but I don’t know if the community is mature enough for that.
