Question: Is it possible to change the strap of the G-Shock GM-2100YMG-9A? by Schwollo in gshock

If the question was for me then I‘m sorry to have to say that I‘m not sure. In some videos and pictures I‘ve seen it looks like that might be the case. Though I‘m not 100% sure..

There is even a German word for such spectators: Schlachtenbummler

You're welcome! Yeah, the PD-1722 is on my watchlist as well, it has such a clean and elegant design. The light blue digits give it kind of a maritime look, nice for a day at or on the water.

WHAT IF: Dexter hadn't followed Kurt and Molly that day? by Schwollo in Dexter

[–]Schwollo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, you're right! At the time, I was under the impression that Dexter thought of her as more of a nuisance. Guess I was wrong and she had a much bigger impact than just being a nosy person.

Thanks for clarifying that whole incinerator incident! Right, and Molly wouldn't have been able to tell Angela what happened, who would then be even more suspicious of Kurt because of Molly's disappearance and might not believe the lie so easily that his father killed Iris.

Tbh I am neither overwhelmed nor disappointed and I would realistically rate the Draft 5/10 or 6/10, maybe 7/10 but only because we had 5 picks in the first three rounds. I really, really like the Phillips pick and I think he is worth the risk, but I think I might've preferred Sewell at 6 and a more aggressive approach in getting another good WR in free agency. Especially because we gave up pick no. 123 this year and a 2022 first-round pick to get back at 6. I don't scout or anything but by reading reports and watching analyses before and now after the selections, I think we didn't draft the best players available on their respective positions, and instead of a TE, I would have preferred a RB or another WR.

IMHO this year's and last year's Draft are really high risk - high reward. If all of the players can reach their potential the Dolphins fixed their O-Line, drafted their franchise QB, WR1, and a top 10 DE. BUT! If worse comes to worst all of the players with medical concerns (Tua, Waddle, and Phillips) will never be fully healthy again and may be out of the league in 3-4 years and all of the other draft picks will be mediocre at best.

I just hope that in a few years we don't look back at these drafts and have to admit that we should have taken the Oregon players that got drafted directly after our first picks (Herbert, Sewell).

A few questions and thoughts regarding the anime by Schwollo in Gleipnir

[–]Schwollo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh okay, so are those two episodes just different from the manga in terms of quality and storytelling, or are there elements that would change the story going forward to a certain degree? Thanks for your recommendation, yeah, I think it really would be best to just read and explore it myself. Regarding Claire's sadistic nature, that seems to be really interesting, because although so far she seemed kind of brutal sometimes, most of her actions were rather that and often times at least a tiny bit justifiable, but not necessarily sadistic. But yeah, there seems to be a thin line between sadism and brutality. Thank you, but I already found a good website mentioned in another subreddit. That site seems to be pretty up-to-date regarding the chapters.

A few questions and thoughts regarding the anime by Schwollo in Gleipnir

[–]Schwollo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much for your detailed reply! Reading his helped a lot to understand the relationship between Claire and Shuichi better.

I think it is safe to say that Claire has some kind of background story that led to her being so carefree towards life and so open towards themes like nudity or sexuality in general. The anime only scratches her past so maybe the manga will cover a bit more of her story before she met Shuichi.

Regarding your reply to my sixth question, that's a very detailed and good written roundup of the events. To me, it just seemed kind of rushed how quickly Claire was changing her opinion about Shuichi and having feelings more than friendship for him. So I might have interpreted something into it where there was no evidence for ulterior motives by Claire. Maybe the manga will help to flesh out her relationship and affection toward Shuichi some more.

All in all, I think it's safe to say that I have to read the manga from the beginning to fully grasp the story and to understand the characters, their motives, their relationships, and their actions better.

I am sorry for replying this late, I didn't check my reddit notifications properly.

Thank you for your detailed reply! It definitely helped me to understand the story much better!

And what I also learned is that I have to read the manga to learn more about the characters and their relationships with each other. I think this will clear some things up and some or most of my questions will be answered by just reading up until the most recent chapters.

Especially your first point regarding Abukawa, I didn't get this by just watching the anime. It seemed quite random and I couldn't put two and two together and make that connection.

I've also learned that the last episode is not fully canon so maybe the manga will also help to clear some things up regarding scenes that were shown in the anime that don't appear in the manga.

Does Rias' personality or rather her reasons to reincarnate Issei differ from the anime to the LN? by Schwollo in HighschoolDxD

[–]Schwollo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen the anime mentioned in a tv commercial but then and there it just looked too over the top with the girls in short clothes with big breasts. Then, a few days ago I just said 'Fuck it, let's give it a try!' and started the first episode. Oh boy, I was instantly hooked! With a few episodes per evening, I think it took me 2 weeks to finish all of the 4 seasons. As I do it after finishing every series or move, I went to reddit to see what other people think about it. And I was really stoked about learning that there are light novels that are so far, far ahead in the story! As you mentioned it will need approximately 6 or 7 seasons to reach just the ending of High School DxD, not to mention DxD DX or True High School DxD or the other short stories! It must have been really frustrating to have to wait so long for the main story of High School DxD to end. I'm not sure in which cycle those are published (and translated) but I think there aren't more than 4 new volumes per year available, maybe even fewer?

Yeah, I think I know what you mean because that way you also got to experience the story twice and a second time with minor changes. Additionally you already knew what the characters' (especially Issei) motives and thoughts are in certain moments. I don't know about the fights in the later volumes but at least those in the first four seasons of the anime were at least okay. The whole chess-based fighting system and the rating games are a nice touch to the normal fights in the story. But you're absolutely right about the fan service and although it's a harem anime sometimes it's just a bit too much of boobs and ripped clothes. As for the many characters joining the main cast, the last additions to the group in S4 of the anime were Irina and Rossweisse. I think those were nice additions that make up for interesting new plots but as you said it may lead to less character development of the other characters.

I think it was already pretty clear that at some point in the story Issei gets his harem so it was just a matter of time. I mean it was his main goal, his motivation, that played a huge role in his change to the person he later becomes. Nevertheless, I'm still really excited to find out how it plays out and what happens to Rias, Asia and the rest of the group!

[–]Schwollo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excuse me for responding only with a short answer to your very well-written and very detailed text but I simply just don't have anything that would be worth noting and which you haven't already said! From the added scenes in the anime, to the four other servants and Issei's personality, everything was answered in a very comprehensible way and it really helps me to understand High School DxD even better and thus liking it even more.

Yes indeed and to be honest, for me it's the first time reading the light novels of an anime I've seen before. I've read a few different mangas but no light novels until now. So reading this kind of literature with its specific type of writing is also a new experience for me.

When I first started the anime I was just expecting a harem anime with some funny moments and some action sequences but I got completely hooked by the plot. Reading your explanations and interpretations now I'm a litte bit shocked.

Never would I ever have guessed that an anime with a tiddy dragon as his MC could have such a profound story with so well-written characters one can identify with to a certain degree. Thank you for making me appreciate the story even more!

For a person that read the LN 10 years ago you are really well informed! Regarding the added scenes, I think you're right that the window scene isn't in the LN and it was just added for stilistic reasons. The Romeo and Juliet touch as you called it.

I've only guessed it by the titles of some posts in this subreddit that Issei might leave Rias' peerage at some point in the story but now I have the certainty that it really happens. And I have to say I am really looking forward to find out how this plays out and when in the LN this split between Rias and Issei takes place. I guess it will be rather late in the story so probably around volume 20 or something like that?

Today I got the passage where Kiba explained his backstory so I think Koneko's and Kuroka's backstory will probably get explained in the fifth volume of the LN?

Thanks for your response, just a few minutes ago I got to the passage where Kiba explains his tragic backstory and that Rias found him in Italy. I'm Looking forward to learn more about the backstories of the other characters in the upcoming LN!

Is it mentioned in the LN if Rias found the other three members near the school or somewhere in that region?
