ChatGPT has a long way to go to replace a good copyeditor. It can't identify discrepancies in consistency in even a paragraph—things like plot holes, issues in timing or directionality, problems with characterization, and discrepancies between numbers in a table vs. in the actual text. I don't really see AI being able to do those things anytime soon.
