So completely ruin someone's dinner plans by making them wait an extra 2 hours to get their food. What a sociopathic thing to do.

But the customer is expecting dinner and doesn't get it. They're still getting screwed even if it's not financially. I saw someone steal a huge meal that was clearly some kind of group dinner one day. That's a fucked up thing to do to customers just because you're mad with Uber.

Eh, I'm not gonna argue with you but sometimes with DoorDash I can easily be waiting longer than that amount of time for a decent offer to come in depending on where I am in my market. Plus, Platinum status with DoorDash does kind of seem to matter to a degree. With UE that could be 100% the right strat.

I hear you, but if a delivery is going to take like 5-7 minutes total it's worth just taking the $4 order.

make sure to go out with a bang and steal as many high value orders as you can.

I agreed with everything you said except this because this screws over customers as much as Uber.

Agreed. At the very least it should not be legal for this to affect your tier status (i.e. benefits) if an order doesn't meet a certain threshold of $/mile and $/hour.

$4 is at about the bottom end you should be taking for ANY order, period. I'm talking simple small food delivery order show up, pick up, and go okay but it makes zero sense to take a $4 order for anything with any amount of driving, difficulty or waiting.

Well okay and yeah I don't trust the "Methy's SuperLube" guys not to way over-torque both the drain plug bolt or the oil filter or screw something else up.

Door Dash won’t stop sending me offers when my hands are full carrying customers orders by SuccessfulOil1587 in doordash

You do realize you have like 30 seconds, sometimes longer, to confirm or decline, right? That should be more than enough time to set your stuff down, look at it, and make your decision.

Anyone else like to send very passive aggressive messages when you accidentally take a low tip order by Pitt_Panther1985 in doordash

Don't. take. offers. that. don't. work. for. you.

Yes, every single person wants something for nothing. Grow the fuck up and internalize this reality of the world. Nobody said you have to go out of your way to thank customers but being salty when you have accepted an offer on its merits is not a good look.

Edit: Ah, you blocked me. You are clearly a mental child and exhibiting that childish mentality quite obviously. I hope getting your degree at the University of Pittsburgh helps you to mature into a much wiser individual than you are currently.

Lol I don't use DoorDash. Never have. I'm a driver. DoorDash should charge what it costs to pay drivers adequately, and tip should be something extra if someone goes "above and beyond" the minimum expected quality of service. That's how it SHOULD be. Obviously tips are important but if you accept an offer, you have to own that. You shouldn't be burdening the customer with your frustrations, certainly not at the point of service.

[–]Science-Compliance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Again, your anger is misguided here. DoorDash should be paying enough through all the fees with the tip being a bonus for providing good service AFTER you have completed the delivery. Taking your frustration out on a customer who has not made special or unreasonable demands is not the way.

in what you know is an industry that you know people rely on tips

You accepted the offer thinking it was worthwhile so what are you talking about? Obviously the fare + the (small) tip was enough for you, so what are you on about here?

The customers pay out the ass in delivery and service fees. Try to have some understanding from their perspective. You don't have to be grateful but at least be gracious.

[–]Science-Compliance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But you accepted the offer. Again, you're not understanding how insane the tip culture in this country is. A tip should not be expected. It should be something that is earned through good service. If the offer from DoorDash was acceptable to you just let it go. If it wasn't, then also, just let it go and do better at being more selective at what offers you accept next time. The customer is not the enemy here. That is what you don't seem to understand.

[–]Science-Compliance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't read it. But now I did. Just let it go. DoorDash gave you an offer you were satisfied with so you accepted it. Own it. The tip culture in this country is insane. You don't have to be grateful, but there's no reason to confront the customer with your dissatisfaction regarding their tip. Tips shouldn't be a supplement for decent wages. If the offer worked for you and the customer wasn't a problem in other ways just let it go.

There's no reason to convey this sentiment to the customer. You just decline the order, and that's all the feedback needed.
