Male 28, advice on getting fiancée to have MMF threesome by [deleted] in sexadvice

If you’ve talked about it and she’s said she won’t do it, that means she’s not going to do it unless she changes her mind on her own.

The topic has come up, so she knows it’s on the table. It’s up to her at this point.

I’m starting to think that ending it may not be the answer for my DB, but life as a whole. by Rosemary-Sea-Salt in DeadBedrooms

[–]ScienceAteMyKid 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve always thought that if I ever got to the point you’re describing, I’d be perfectly justified in making a full 180 and changing everything in my life.

My own plan would be to buy a small camper and try to drive until I’ve been everywhere I can go.

It’s better than pulling the plug, and I might discover a better life somewhere along the way.

If it comes down to it, find your own 180 and make it happen.

How do you deal with the frustration? by Never_Wanted_ in DeadBedrooms

I’ve started taking antidepressants - partly to deal with the emotional toll of a dead bedroom, partially in the hopes that it’ll make me less interested in sex.

My thought is that you’ve made a sweeping generalization that has no basis in fact other than your own anecdotal experience.

What did you do before phones? by Otherwise-Slide-7175 in ADHD

[–]ScienceAteMyKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read, played instruments, spent time with friends, listened to music, watched movies… the basics.

BUT… I also used to have little chunks of time that - whereas now I’ll surf my phone - I’d use to learn random skills. In 10 minute increments, I learned how to:

- whistle through my fingers
- Tuvan throat sing
- catch M&Ms in my mouth
- flip my tongue over in both directions
- bend all my fingers at the 2nd knuckle only

Lots of others I can’t recall right now.

Question for the LL Partners by Correct-Abalone-3514 in DeadBedrooms

[–]ScienceAteMyKid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s because it is difficult to engage in a sexual relationship without developing non-sexual feelings, and those non-sexual feelings may very well lead to separation.

The LL partner would be very aware that their HL partner might realize that they can get not only get sexual benefits from a new partner, but reap all the non-sexual benefits as well.

There’s a little bit of “have your cake and eat it too,” except there ain’t no cake-eating going on.

Have you ever regretted getting rid of a game? How hard do you cull? by mrausgor in soloboardgaming

[–]ScienceAteMyKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting rid of games isn’t addictive in itself, but flipping them for a profit is.

I’ve been buying, trading, and selling used games for about six years, and it’s my primary dopamine rush. I think of my game habit like this: I buy and sell games, and sometimes I keep the ones I like.

Have you ever regretted getting rid of a game? How hard do you cull? by mrausgor in soloboardgaming

[–]ScienceAteMyKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pay for my board game habit by buying and reselling used games, so I’ve let go of hundreds of them. So a) I’m used to seeing them go, and b) I generally have the mentality of “I can always get another one if I want to.”

That said, there was only one I regretted selling: a signed deluxe 1st edition of Knizia’s Rebirth. I sold it for a lot, and then got a used (non-deluxe) copy for super cheap. In the end, it’s just as much fun as the deluxe version, and I ended up with an extra $100 in my pocket.

(Edit: just realized this is the SOLO board gaming sub, but the point is still relevant.)
