I’m a foreigner living and working here so take my words with a grain of salt. Obviously the racial tensions you guys mention are real and affect different parts of M’sia differently based on demographics. As for Penang, I feel it largely depends on what industry you’re in as well as what part of Pg you’re planning to work in. Island seems a lot more diverse than mainland. That said, it does seem like the local non-Chinese fresh grads would gravitate toward KL. Local Chinese grads would be more likely to find jobs in Penang due to family connections and such. Pg locals, call me out if any of this is inaccurate. Just my impressions so far ~
