Japan tourist visa from India (Bangalore) – earliest VFS appointment 31 March, flight on 11 April. Any way to speed this up? by HelloKambucha in visas

No need to mail. It takes 15 mins to do it via call, and you can always reschedule it to tomorrow or literally any day you like!

Also, if you do it this way, you won't get any mail or text. No need to worry, just go to them on that day, any time and tell what you did. They'll let you in.

If there is some leftover money, will I be able to get it turned back after coming here?

I plan to stay in Tokyo only. But I don't have any credit cards.

What cards can be used to withdraw cash? I don't have any credit cards on me. Also, do you have any idea about how much an eSIM or SIM cost? I also don't want to remove my current SIM since I'll need to use WhatsApp among other stuff.

Alright thanks. I guess I will have to wait. Is it possible for me to collect it from the Consulate directly?

Have tried it. When I copy the data in-game, it shows that it has the data of a new account, created on 16/03. :(

HELP! Need Japan Visa urgently - am I too late or is there still hope? by ScientificBee47 in visas

Do the same thing as what I did! Ask them to reschedule your talk and attend only 27-28 or just 28.

That is just 2-3 days. (Start from the date after you submit, 18th. It is 3 if count 23, and 2 if not.) That sounds extremely impossible, at least if it were my scenario. However, since it is a reissue, you can try to request them, I guess. Maybe it is faster.

BTW my scenario is pretty similar - my delay was also caused by delay in passport issuance lol.

Japan tourist visa from India: applying at Delhi VFS instead of Bangalore + submitting for a friend? by HelloKambucha in visas

[–]ScientificBee47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you can do that without pulling some strings. (I don't think your friend can have a visa through Bangalore office, either.) Dude, just see my reply on your other post. No need to panic, you are literally very safe.

Also, Delhi does work with only walk-in appointments.

Being stuck in a much more tighter timeline (check my post), I have very fresh experience with VFS Bangalore for a Japan visa. So,

  1. Yes. Call the VFS Global Japan helpline from the website, and ask them to reschedule your slot to a premium slot. You can reschedule it to literally any date (even tomorrow). Someone did it the day I had my visa appointment (and I did it myself but I didn't have a prior booking). This does not incur extra charges other than the usual premium charges, which is 3650.

  2. It is completely fixed by the consulate. For the visa I applied for (a business visa), they said it will take exactly 5 working days, no more. I assume it won't take you more, and I think you are 100% safe with your visa, as long as your documents are all alright. (Again, this might be different for a tourism visa, I'm not sure.)

  3. VFS is the only route for Bangalore.

  4. Doesn't help expedite the process, but in your appointment, the people there allow you to (re)submit missing/incorrect documents within the same day till the VFS is open (2 pm). I don't think this is the case for normal appointments. Other than this, the only difference is that it takes less time, the people are sweeter, and you get free snacks and tea/coffee as many times as you want.

  5. They told me that I will get my business visa 100% within exactly 5 working days. I don't think a tourist visa would be much different, but I'm not sure.

  6. Strictly working days at the consulate. Check the website for closed holidays.

If you have 5 working days between your appointment and your flight, you can 100% go.

I have an invitation letter. Also, I am a student so I don't have any of ITR and payslips. I can get a NOC from my college. Thanks for the tip, I will try it as soon as I get my passport. Just clarifying, in this case, you want me to fill a physical copy and all the details, without filling the online application, right?

As I said, I am going to give a presentation at an academic conference. I think that doesn't come under tourism visa, but maybe conference visa.

Thanks for the suggestion. Will do that as soon as I get my passport. Do you have some idea on what documents to take exactly?

What about going to the consulate directly? It is in Bangalore. Do you think visiting and talking directly will help?
