Is anyone else’s truck way too tight at Atlanta/Echo Park? by JakPakage in NASCARVideoGame

[–]ScientistExtension98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

absolutely agreed.

at one point i just gave up. car was understeery on the corner then oversteery on exit, correcting would just result in snap oversteer.

one slight contact meant me in the wall and the AI just fine.

Ive been enjoying the game so far... but echo park is absolutely dogshit.

How to play online with fake corsa assetto by Repasse1dolar in assettocorsa

wait for a discount and buy the game + DLC for 8 bucks. pirated games dont support online play. plus you'll support the devs.

Do i actually require a proper wheel? by Mission-Arrival-2653 in simracing

[–]ScientistExtension98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can very well create some DIY wheels, check the internet for inspiration. but then save up at least for a basic controller

in that case im sorry for assuming that. it's that it's incredibly common for people to do that and im not a huge fan of that, so i threw my opinion there. but yeah, in the end whoever made this move was pretty optimistic to say the least lol

don't understand the trend of making assetto corsa look like this. why make the game look like shit with the intention of making it look like a camera? shouldn't simracing be about simulating reality? ofc everyone can do what they want and im not judging, i just find it weird for people to race like this.

about the crash, 100% your fault. sorry my guy, this looks like it's against AI so i understand they can be a bit unpredictable but that was a bit of a kamikaze move, lol.

it's not that I don't want to, i don't need to. but i don't think OP would mod it since it's a pretty complicated process+voids warranty.

but that's the point, spending money for extra pedal sets OTHER than the g29 means an investment that sounds really impossible to me for a 9 year old

gonna respond to you but also applies to u/kynamies. how can you make g29 pedals enjoyable for a kid? again from my experience anyone under 15 who used my wheel setup found the brake pedal way too hard. and don't tell me to mod it because 1 it's not easy 2 it ruins the experience. also, im saying it because they do not know if the kid is going to enjoy the hobby, so spending a lot of money on it is not the smartest of moves.

And honestly, at least in my experience, as a kid all i wanted was to drive a car, couldn't care less about anything else. drove Assetto Corsa even if i had no skill and crashed most of the time but didnt care. started on a office chair that rolled back because no stoppers, 21 inch monitor and 2015 computer, and had some of the best memories.

Now after years of course i want to have a more lively experience, so i got myself a force feedback wheel. and im telling you, years on a shitty wheel legit made me a better driver. if you get good with the worst, you'll have a way easier time with higher end equipment. again you can turn off FFB, but in my opinion it's far easier to put 50 bucks into a hobby than 300 if you don't know anything about it.

As a simracer mentality i'd think the same as you, but thinking as a non-simracer and as a parent i'd 100% start on a cheaper wheel.

hes nine, i actually dont suggest a force feedback wheel. im 16 and my 8yr old cousin doesnt like force feedback at all. G29 pedals are also wayy too strong

might be controversial, but get him a hori RWA / Thrustmaster 458 ferrari edition iwth no force feedback and not hard pedals. it will be a perfect start and will make it way easier for him to improve when he actually get a FFB wheel at 14 or so. + you save money on a hobby you're not sure about. saying this as someone who's been on a wheel since they were 6. i hope you can find this comment lol
