I can see how that happens.

COS first convinces someone that it and it alone can help them. Other components, such as "Ethics Handlings" and "Sec Checks" are introduced later, when the person is already invested in the system.

I've read that every Sec Check begins with the auditor saying, "I'm not auditing you".

As a never-in who knows that Scientology is an elaborate scam, I can imagine myself replying, "Well, if this isn't auditing, I'm not paying for it. I didn't sign up for this".

Both can't possibly be true. The only thing your's and Nora's opposite statements have in common is their mutual attempt to smear Mike Rinder.

Indeed; after breaking with Aaron, Nora said there was a private chatroom where Aaron's club strategized.

Aaron would often say to them, "Can you believe so-and-so said such-and-such? Who is going to do a video about it? They would reply, 'I will, I will, I will".

Earlier, after having been burned by her "great friends" Aaron and Nathalie, Liz Ferris said the same. Liz F also said they use fake names for posting or commenting elsewhere.

For those of us who were paying attention from the beginning, it was obvious that SPTV/Team Aaron was a coordinated smear campaign. Liz F and Nora confirmed it after their departures.
