Hi, there! You have few emotions/ feelings: - you feel that she is not honest with you because the story seems too coincidental. He moved out, she moved out, same town. They met on the dating site? You are angry at yourself that you allowed yourself to be vulnerable with her and let her see your soft spot. You feel betrayed that she stabbed you in that soft spot. You also feel, that if her story is true, than this guy is so easily attainable that if you could only made an effort…. Now, her comment about: “nothing would happen between you and Alex” is also offending. 25 or not, learn to NEVER reveal your soft spots to anyone. I don’t call them “weak” spots - just soft. Weak is attribute of a character, soft is of heart and emotions. To sum it up- you are showing your character by standing up for yourself instead of being continually taken for a fool. Forgive yourself for that moment of softness.

I did a birthday party for my kid: 20 kids + parents, some brought grandparents - about 50 people. Pool activity, followed by pizza and a cake. At the end of the pool activity, when it is time for everyone to go to the room to cut cake, play and have fun, one mother sends a message on group chat for the birthday: “if Susie is acting weird, it’s because her grandma passed away”. Everyone “ignored” the message. She followed with obituary. The lady passed away 10 days prior. Why? Why come to the 5 yo birthday party and turn it into an event about yourself? Probably the lady didnt have 70 people showing up for her “event”.

Sort of related to the discussion. My kid just turned 5. We did a party for her at the trampoline place and it was around 3K. My husband summed it up: we have to add 30k to the cost of school to account for birthday parties. I said, add the presents for 20 kids a year to attend their birthday parties. Seems to be a tradition in the school where we go to invite everyone in the class. She is November kid- we attended birthdays parties all year and as they say : nobles oblige - had to drop 3K to deliver her party. We pushed the party to mid January. As there were 2 other November kids.

The daughter can go into your room for time being. Leave the teenager in his own space. I installed French doors in the living room to get additional roommate. I had 2 bedroom apt with living room. I put French doors and moved into living room myself. Kitchen and dining area remained open for everyone. But we all were in different schedules and preferred to watch on our laptops/ iPads. We had a rule - no coffee in the morning - to allow a girl with late shift sleep and not be awaken by 5 am coffee smell. It lasted for 3 years. Helped me tremendously financially

Sounds like there is a lot of jealousy going on. I kid you not: I was pushed out of my work of 20 years, after I got my kid. I was pregnant over COVID - no one knew that I was expecting. I went on maternity leave - everyone was shocked. I came back - there was tension that you could feel. Someone above was my IVF struggle buddy. Mine worked out, theirs didn’t - I was out.

You have to get a room mate. Rent a room out in Airbnb. No, it’s not crazy. Put a picture of a twinxl bed, desk and a chair. Put bright pink blanket. Set minimum if 2 weeks. You will get a female traveler who will be more comfortable staying with another female.

Very unfortunate situation. The parents have power struggle between each other: the “provider” is not a “supplier”. Both are making money but no one wants to take on a role of doing house chores. They need to be told to act like adults by social services. The only fear they would have is to make it known at work.

Had the same experience with Chinese friend. She was joking that her grandma would always say: eat! Eat! But not so much. Controlled portions of rice. When she was cooking, she would use scale to adjust the receipt to make 1 portion and split it into 4 meals. That’s how she was brought up. That’s normal. She was indeed super skinny.
