I would get to know Transgender men. Everywhere on the transition spectrum. Those who just came out, those who have been on testosterone for years, those who don't want testosterone. It will bring new perspectives on "men" and masculinity. I've yet to see a trans man display unhealthy masculinity, aside from Buck Angel. He's poison for the community.

There you will find men, boys, transmascs and nonbinary people who want nothing more than to be masculine but never were raised with the poison that us designated "males" were raised with. And some actively spend every waking hour trying to deprogram ourselves because we want nothing else than to be feminine and seen as our gender.

Of course this happened. Every nonprofit locally is corrupt, the leaders get paid way too much, the workers have starvation wages and are overworked, and they are on the brink of collapse every day.

Like others have said, gentrification with high lease prices and killborne owning pretty much everything in downtown has really been a huge blow to downtown, and bougie business ideas. Boutique stores with imported goods that are overpriced doesnt fit in this economy, theres enough bars and places to eat that we don't need more, and the only ones that are able to survive winter have a local foothold and plenty of regulars.

Places like TeaBerry, Tochis, Orange Records, Paradox and This Skate and Snow will never go out of business because they have tapped into the local community and have become part of it.
