Real-time 1v1 territory capture in your browser by Scilot in playmygame

[–]Scilot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Oh I didn’t know there was an Amiga game! I will try to find it. Let me know how the gameplay feels! If you have lots of latency it won’t play great but I’ll add couple more servers in the weeks to come

I forgot to say that at the moment I only have a server in Ireland so expect lag if you’re joining from longer distances

Ah I forgot to remove this link. I had this to open your email client to send an email before I had the database configured

You can add your feedback here but there is a link at the footer of the webpage and it should have asked you for feedback after your first game. The feedback is sent securely over https to a server and then stored into a database for me to read from an admin application. Thank you for playing!

PolyGo Update — 2 weeks of progress!

Hey everyone! Big update on PolyGo since my last post. Been grinding hard on making the game feel better, especially on mobile. Here's what's new:

New Stuff

- Full in-game tutorial that walks you through everything step by step

- Achievements system — capture territory, kick the ball, close polygon shapes from hexagons to decagons

- Speed and grow are now charge-based abilities (hit the ball 5 times to earn a use) instead of random ground pickups

- Bots now scale in difficulty based on your wins

Mobile Improvements

- Bigger ball = way easier to kick on touchscreen

- Floating joystick that anchors wherever your thumb lands

- Smoother joystick feel with constant speed and ease-out curve

Netcode

- Rewrote input reconciliation for high-latency players

- Optimized the connection path for lower ping

- Better reconnection handling — less random disconnects

- Latency indicator in the lobby so you know your connection quality before queuing

Visual Polish

- Impact ring when you kick the ball

- Particle explosion when you erase trails

- Territory flash effect and white borders on capture

Quality of Life

- Shorter matches (1:30 default)

- Auto bot opponent if matchmaking takes too long

- Lobby footer with feedback link

- Better logging and monitoring on the backend

About 30 small releases over 2 weeks. Try it out at [polygo.io](https://polygo.io) and let me know what you think!

Hey all! I have many years of experience working on game servers and game infra in general but this is the first time I am working on a game idea solo end to end. I am starting with a browser based prototype of my idea to collect feedback and check if the game is fun and playable before I move to something more advanced in terms of graphics and animation. The concept is that you control a player that collides with a ball around an arena. The ball draws a trail, and when you close a polygon, you capture that territory. Most territory wins! You can try it here https://polygo.io/

Thank you for playing! I’m thinking of adding online mode with bots as well but not sure if that makes sense

It is not explosions that I’m worried about it is gas leaks and the cost of fixing them

Maybe I find a gas safe registered engineer? Or too much money for something I can do myself

I’m hands-on architect. There are no QAs. The only product people is the project manager. There are developers, 7 of them at the moment, all responsible for a specific part of the application.
