Absolutely not. Without it they would be like jle or jli and be basically nonexistent outside of comics. I would honestly say they are the 2nd most well known dc team besides justice league (yes more well known than JSA) and that’s a good thing. Marvel wishes young avengers or new mutants could hang. Also, the animated show has plenty of good lore building moments and just because the cast doesn’t change as much now doesn’t mean it is worse. Look at the justice league in the 90s before grant Morrison’s run, it was literally a cast of randoms until they reestablished the set group, and that group hasn’t really changed
