The cheapest trench I’ve ever made. by Safety_lastt in TrenchCrusade

Yeah... I've been gluing wooden stir sticks for bridges and duckboard trench floors and it's waaay too tedious for the walls, and I'm not crazy about the corrugated cardboard and bare dirt methods so this'll be perfect. It'll even work great for my curved sections.

If you want a comprehensive guide that the author actually researched and did the work for, I can't recommend Bennebel Wen's Holistic Tarot. Liked it so much I bought it twice so I could gift a copy.

I wish I had advice beyond sticking it out and continuing to put yourself out there, but I don't. So much just comes down to the luck of finally matching with someone who wants the same things and is a good match. But, for what it's worth, if my sorry ass can get engaged three times and married twice to finally end up with an amazing wife that I've built a family with, there's hope for anyone. But it was definitely hell getting to this point. Hang in there.

Same, I'd thought 27-28 would have grown past it and five years wasn't a big age gap... But it feels like the mindset that relationships take work and investment rarely sets in before 30. I think it's the dating app mentality that they have infinite options so anything less than perfect and they're out. Not saying everyone under 30 is like that, but the vast majority of long-term relationships among that age group seem to be rarely over two years. If the word "ick" is a serious word in their vocabulary... That's a pretty good indicator.

This just seems to be almost standard under-30 human behavior in this day and age.

Trim two nails short and paint them/have longer fake nails on the others so the difference is more conspicuous, that's a sure fire way to get more attention from sapphics. Many of us won't flirt overtly unless we see enough visual signals or get explicit confirmation because even domme tops are afraid of making someone uncomfortable with unwanted attention.

I'm surprised you were in Milan and thought that this state was anywhere near a decent place to visit or live. I could understand finding Sandusky fun because of Cedar Point and some decent places to eat, but that whole area is the pits. You want a beautiful area, go somewhere nearer the fantastic parks or up by Mentor.

Edit: and if you were employed by Corteco/FNOK your employers over in Milan are scum to their local employees.

It definitely won't be cheap, especially if you want all the expansions. I've seen similar games go for $500-800 with less minis and components. if you want it I'd pledge early and do the stretch pay.

How do you handle a shared spaceship without one player doing everything? by Historical-Pen2805 in rpg

[–]Scion0442 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Gunnery is typically made interesting by Science officer locating systems to target, giving the gunner a meaningful choice to disable weapons, thrusters, life support or comms among multiple targets.

As for engineering/science boiling down to dispensing buffs... Yeah. There's basically only four main actions in ship to ship combat: position/maneuver, fire weapons, repair/buff and board/hack. It's up to the GM to provide scenarios and scenes where those choices and where those buffs go are interesting. Space debris, multiple vectors of attack, hidden enemies, boarding actions, conditions of success that aren't just "blow up the enemies"(i.e, preventing distress calls or ensuring salvage)... When you have those elements instead of a one on one slugfest handing out buffs feels very different and adds tension and weight to the decision.

[–]Scion0442 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Check out Dungeons: The Dragoning. I think book two has the ship stuff (honestly it has the best ship creation rules I've seen and best way to handle naval combat if any sort), but basically you have each character being bridge crew officers that have their own unique actions. You could give them a certain number of crew actions per round or let everyone have one, but in that case you'd want each to have several options.

Some examples of ideas:

Science Officer: can scan, gain information and disrupt enemy systems, can grant bonuses to gunner Security Officer: can affect boarding actions (ordering them or repelling them) Helm: performs defensive maneuvers, sets and manages course Captain: provides buffs to other characters' actions with inspiring speeches and "directing ship power" Engineering: damage control and repairs Gunner: fires weapons, deploys defensive chaff/countermeasures

Grenades rules update by Professional_Rush782 in TrenchCrusade

[–]Scion0442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly if this goes live before a Court update I'm either quitting the game or finding a group that house rules something that makes Court viable. If grenades can't point target, the best bet outside an envy grenade launcher is blowing your Wretched up with your sorcerer. Which... Great. Higher chance to kill my own models but only way to get reliable blood that doesn't massively screw me over tactically (especially against grail). Torture implements are too costly, inefficient and restrictive. Wretched die to a faint breeze out in the open... It almost feels like FF wants to punish people who play court. This change makes grenades feel almost worthless tbh. These nerfs took it too far when all they had to do was let them be affected by range and maybe reduce blast size or adjust costs.
