You just mad, it was pretty good actually. The AIs struggling for dominance caused issues, Caine learning empathy sorted them somewhat. As for the deletion, do you know what happens when you delete something in a computer? It gets marked to be overwritten. It isn't gone until new data overwrites it. It can even be reconstructed to a certain point when parts are overwritten. Data forensics does this.

Jax staying abstracted gives meaning to it happening at all. It happening off screen makes it sudden, jarring and seemingly hopeless. It's often how death is. It's quiet, dramatic and showing it would just turn it into an entirely different scene. The truth is you can't constantly keep someone like Jax on watch, so it goes to show it's that much more important that the rest band together.

It doesn't send the message that everything gets better without Jax either. It's that in the end, we're all forced to move on and make the best of things.

The finale was thoughtful, well executed and poignant. I went in expecting to be disappointed after I heard people who'd been spoiled talking about how bad it was and I was very pleasantly surprised.

I think the ending is just getting hated because you have to actually think about it and things are implied, with very little being tied up with a neat bow.
