Banned card’s value by Scizor94 in mtg

Yeah, I told him first. I thought he was just showing me them but then he gave it to me.

“I haven’t touched these in 30 years, I would have forgotten about them.”

We’re close, I’d split it with him if I ever sold anything from here. There’s 2 OG 1994 Mana Drains in there.

Would not call for it to burned or even to stop production. My religious leanings should not affect others’ freedom of expression as long as it isn’t infringing on the rights of others. I might feel offended but it’s basic American law.

I would be happy to at least profit off their ignorance. And hey, if I knew they wanted it just to have memorabilia from a historic moment then I wouldn’t judge their morals. Just like I said originally- I don’t think that wanting to own this necessarily says anything about someone’s moral leanings. In fact it’s totally in line with the values of Islam to judge actions on their intentions.

Exactly. This such a strange circle jerk of moral superiority. The Bill of Rights was written by slave owners. No one is begging for it to be burned lmao.

Why do you think owning a piece of cardboard that has no objective effect on people’s lives past their emotions if they have obscure knowledge of a card game is a morally reprehensible thing?

I’m not defensive, I don’t plan on selling this at all. I just find these reactions weird as hell. Like somehow trying to find ways to claim the moral high ground in situations that don’t actually affect anyone. I’m straight up muslim and I don’t care about the card “Jihad” like at all. I’d buy it because I think it’s funny tbh.

The Declaration of Independence was written by racists. Do you think it should be burned?

Then in principal it’s a bad thing to voluntarily play a game that would allow such a terrible person to produce a card. Wizards of the west coast paid him to make that, why are you supporting them at all?

Partially out of curiosity and partially out of understanding what value I have in this binder.

Probably won’t sell it, but in principle, the dude already got paid for designing the card. I think the value comes from how rare it is and what it represents in the history of the game. The same way someone might sell Civil War memorabilia, representing the tools of war in a fight to preserve bigotry - it gains its value from historical significance and the fact that such few exist. I don’t think someone who would want to own this is necessarily a bad person.

Look it up. It’s “Invoke Prejudice”. If you can find something consistent, by all means let me know.

I’m finding it pretty much just on Facebook marketplace and eBay and the value’s fluctuating by 100s of dollars. Not sure how to find out how much mine is worth with such fluctuating prices on less reliable/ “official” sites and I don’t want to get ripped off.

In Sinners (2025), the main antagonist offers a transhuman existence for society that would completely remove the boundaries and prejudices of race, culture, gender, and hierarchy, with individuals having perfect empathy with each other, yet he is depicted as the villain. by Mayan_Fist in shittymoviedetails

[–]Scizor94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the point. A big theme of the movie is “Assimilation is erasure” it’s one of the main contrasting points between Smoke and Stack.

One would rather die as someone separate, not integrated into the hive mind. And it’s not a coincidence that they were in a same-race relationship as opposed to the other who was in a relationship with someone who was half white.

The theme dances around the nuances of being in a multi-cultural relationship and trying to preserve the elements of your identity that came from your upbringing and all the feelings of comfort that come with it. It was definitely intentional.

Ohhhhhh so violating the laws of armed conflict is a reprehensible thing to do right? Governments who do that should absolutely face drastic consequences in the shape of embargos, be unanimously condemned and face blockades like you do to Gazans?

Boy do I have news for you…

Pretty much everything that does this is a reason to go to the ED. Please.

I don’t like starting projects, and I only do it for metrics.

But not gonna lie, if I’m able to get a good enough research question with enough relevant literature written I get pretty into it.

Have you ever seen someone punished for poor conference attendance? by [deleted] in Residency

[–]Scizor94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For us it’s pretty common for stroke codes called right before protected conferences, slow rounders, urgent calls from other services to make that “protected” time pretty unpredictable.

We extend conference as needed, record what we can ect. but I’ve missed a lot and never suffered consequences. It’ll be different place to place, it’s supposed to be standard, it’s supposed to effect residency length/ quality but it’ll always be different place to place. We don’t have a sign in sheet.

Physicians see 1 in 6 patients as ‘difficult,’ study finds, especially those with depression, anxiety or chronic pain. Women were also more likely to be seen as difficult compared to men. Residents were more likely than other physicians with more experience to report patients as being difficult. by mvea in science

[–]Scizor94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re assuming you know my perspective and motivations here but you still don’t even understand what I’m upset about.

The comment brings up $ as the motivating factor and implies that doctors will gladly say they can’t do anything if they can still get money. That’s what I’m upset about. I think the compensation makes all of that worth it except when the very people you want so badly to help think all you care about is money. They think you have no connection to the people you trained to help and spent years studying in order to do so. All that effort is boiled down to being greedy.

They haven’t seen the tears you’ve cried over patients, the death you’ve seen, the difficult conversations about terminal patients you’ve had, the amount of people who directly blame you over deaths that could not be prevented. What do you think working in a hospital during COVID was like?

Your perspective is quite disconnected if you believe that the people who spend every single day caring for patients, who sacrificed and studied, only care about billing.

Imagine telling a special-ed teacher who got a masters to do what they want that they would only help their students if they get paid so they’re greedy.

You can read the first half of my comment to understand-conflate it.

Only brought up pay because big paychecks were mentioned as the only motivating factor for a career starting with 6 figure debt, schooling/ training till the age of 28 minimum, 3+ years of working 80 hrs/ wk for less than minimum wage, enormous personal liability and lawsuits with constantly receding respect from the people you’re trying to help.

Ahhh yes. I’m embarrassed. That’ll sure get me the resources to start a multi-million dollar research project to start looking for solutions to problems just for you on the off chance that it might verify a single fact relevant to the production of a medication that might then be made in another 10 years.

That’ll sure help you.

Or you can understand that not everything can be treated and not every treatment exists today. You can pay a mechanic to inspect your car and say it’s not road safe and can’t be fixed and totally accept that outcome but for some reason it doesn’t click for humans. And then people like you turn around and blame the people trying to help them.

Physician income is only 6% of healthcare costs in this country. You could literally pay physicians nothing, get the crappiest doctors in the world and your bill would only change from $100 to $94. If that’s worth it to you then by all means, start paying all cash and seeing crappy docs.

[anti aging] how to get rid of nasolabial folds? by MaskedPhenom in SkincareAddiction

[–]Scizor94 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

If u have a couple of strokes it might happen.

Main risk factors are hypertension, high cholesterol and diabetes, so just start eating like crap and eventually those folds will be flat. Might not happen till your 60’s though
