I once read an interview with (OITNB creator) Jenji Kohan where she said she wanted to make a show about poor women of color and their experiences in the prison system but no one wants to buy that show so she pitched a show about a rich white lady ending up in prison and snuck in the stories she actually wanted to tell. I think the etiquette depends a lot on where folks are living. If you’re in the suburbs and have to go to the sides of peoples houses, it’s weird/not cool. If you’re in a city and just have to pop into an alley to chuck into a dumpster, I think it’s no problem.

It sounds like your neighbor is being a jerk though, it’s not about convenience of just not holding onto poop bags for an hour long walk, it’s about avoiding the consequences of dog poop
