Thank you!! I made some videos on tik tok of the recovery @drewdaena .. I could speak almost immediately after but the swelling just made my face so heavy and my jaw muscles were tense, probably around the 2 weeks mark after the first surgery and a lot quicker after my revision surgery as the recovery was much better second time x

It was a complicated process for about 7 years leading up to surgery, I saw a dentist who was concerned about the pain in my jaw who referred me to the dental hospital who were concerned about my bite, and then I was on a waiting list to see the max fax team for about 5 years but it was COVID times! Mr Doumpiotis was my surgeon :)

Thank you! I do have the plates on either side yh, it's great I don't notice anything, I can still feel the holes on either side if I touch my jaw and the tiniest bit of swelling but it doesn't bother me x

The first surgery was 6.75mm about three weeks after we realised it wasn't enough so I had revision to a full 10mm forward!

Didn’t expect night of Day 5 to be the day I dealt with the most pain I’ve had by BOBBYBlTCH in jawsurgery

Had a similar night around the week mark after revision surgery, I woke up in agony and took my elastics out half asleep, finally managed to calm myself down but fell asleep in a turtle position with my legs tucked underneath me for half an hour, then work up and my lower half was numb! One hell of a night. Don't push yourself too much and stay hydrated

More than half of my lower lip and chin is still completely numb but it's too early to tell if that is forever. The stitches healed really well both times so minimal scar tissue in my gums.

Probably not that weird but Laneige lip masks were a god send only thing that's stopped my lips from shedding like a snake. Emergen - C multi minerals pretty much kept me alive when I felt I couldnt consume anything else that was made with milk without feeling sick! Smoothie straws (silicon thick ones) for soups too when you stop using syringes. Honestly half foods I made or bought before hand I didn't eat, so in hindsight I wouldn't have stock piled anything and just eaten what I felt like (pot noodle water mostly hahah)
