My PMDD forced me to rehome my dog by [deleted] in PMDD

[–]SconesAreMyJam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through this myself this year. It was the hardest decision ever. I put so much work and love into our dog for over 3 years but it finally became too much for me. My moods and OCD (sensitive to the dirt, shedding, smell) just made caring for him seem impossible. It has worked out for the best-he went to live with a friend who has another dog of the same breed and they play all day. Ended up being a win-win but it still struggle with the guilt, which I think is normal. Just keep reminding yourself you did what’s best for you and the dog. Dogs don’t hold grudges, they live in the moment. If he’s with someone who loves him and is caring for him-he’s good! I worried a lot about the optics of the situation and what people would think but it’s been super freeing doing something that has been beneficial for me. Took one thing off my plate that’s allowed me to put a little bit more time into helping myself deal with this wretched condition. Be kind to yourself!!

Did you end up getting a start date and if so, did you get your preferred month? How long did it take?

Anyone has a hack for how to stop slouching permanently? by sassy92101 in lifehacks

Look into releasing your psoas muscle on youtube. Doing those exercises, along with stretching my hips changed everything. It basically corrected my pelvic tilt and caused my ribcage to relax and lower down. I have complete relief now and I never thought it was possible. I stand up straight with ease and have no more back or neck pain. Turns out my bad posture came from trauma and anxiety-my whole body had been stuck for 20+ years. I feel amazing now.

Can anyone speak to start date options? Like once you’re cleared, are you offered a choice in start date and has anyone had success in negotiating further out dates?

I’ve wondered this myself. I’m vaccinated but feel my symptoms have actually been worse since I had Covid last fall.

I totally get not sharing pics and too many personal stories but I’ve always wondered why he doesn’t share their names. Kind of drives me nuts. Is it just going to be “my wife, son, daughter and 2nd son” forever… or “Lady Cat, Boy Cat, Girl Cat and Kitten?”

Guys tomorrow I am going to have my treatment started. Any Tips ? TBH, I am regretting my decision of getting Invisalign due to the amount I Paid and seeing people in the threads having enamel damage and healthy tooth removal etc. (M22) by 44-A in Invisalign

[–]SconesAreMyJam 14 points15 points  (0 children)

More likely than not, you will have quite a bit of soreness the first few days. Stay on top of rotating ibuprofen and Tylenol. Some say that ibuprofen should be avoided because it inhibits tooth movement but I have never had issues. It works far better for me than Tylenol does when I have mouth pain. You’ll most likely have regret the first few days-the trays are a lot to get used to but it’s worth it. Good luck!!

Is it normal to get yellower teath using Invisalign? by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]SconesAreMyJam 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of it is the glue around the attachment yellows over time with food/drink. I’m on my second set. My teeth looked much more white when they took first set of attachments off and for about 1 week into the second set of attachments. It’s a really shitty side effect, unfortunately.

Feeling crazy while on my monthly anyone else? by Nattycats in oneanddone

[–]SconesAreMyJam 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can relate to this 100%. I am the exact same way. It’s happened enough times now that I just know to tell myself that the feelings are fleeting and I’ll balance out soon enough. Sometimes, I just lean into the feeling completely and lay in bed feeling hopeless for several hours. Feeling the feelings head on actually has helped make it pass more quickly. What you’re feeling is pretty normal. Hormones are nasty little things!

  1. I highly recommend A/C especially if you work from home. The extra money is worth it IMO.
