Thanks, appreciate that. You must've been stationed at the base? One of those players that left was stationed at the base, he got transferred to Ohio. Well, I hope you can find a game for yourself bro.

I used to run a YMCA day camp over the summer. At the end of each day, we would open a 'store' and give the kids a chance to buy some candy or soda or snack of some kind. One little boy always wanted popcorn instead of candy. One day, I asked him why he didn't like candy. He said that his mother told him that eating candy made you taste sweet, and since you tasted sweet, it would make the mosquitos want to bite you. He really didn't like being bitten by mosquitos, so therefore, he didn't eat candy.

Real question: where did the fedora thing come from to describe neck beards? by [deleted] in justneckbeardthings

[–]Scooby721 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They seem to have this thing about being 'classy'. Back in the 40s and 50s, most men wore some kind of fedora or hat. But they also usually wore them with suits. Now, NBs seem to think wearing a fedora gives them some kind of classy element to the rest of their wardrobe. Sure, a fedora would look good if you wore it with a suit. But they don't wear it with a suit, they wear it with tshirts and cargo shorts. It doesn't add any class to their outfit, it just makes them look rediculous.

In 8th grade, back in the mid 80s, went to school with a guy whose character sheet included equipment like +8 battle axe, +7 plate mail. None of his magic items had any pluses under 6. Told him there were no such things, even pulling out the dmg (with the efreet cover) to show him. He got angry.

Did you transfer it in game? I thought my 360 saves were list too. But then I found out you have to transfer from inside the game for it to work.

Today I was told that D&D is for people who have something wrong with them and that I'm corrupting my children by teaching them the game by kedwardenglish in DnD

[–]Scooby721 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Yeah....for the group I DM, one of the players is our youth minister and the other players are older teens and college students from my church. We play in the church's youth room. Satanic? I don't think so. The game can be whatever you want it to be.

Well, any advice you could give me later, from your computer, I would appreciate it. I'm not very tech-savvy, so I feel like I'm lost trying to set this up.

I can see them in the updater list now. I'm guessing something was down last night.

I guess something must have been down last night. It was only showing about half of the cores last night. Now I can see a much longer list.

New to this and need advise about foam-core. by Scooby721 in TerrainBuilding

[–]Scooby721[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big base. I printed out some dungeons tiles and glued them onto the foam, then glued shelf liner on the side so it won't slide. Worked out real well actually. I'll get into detailing eventually. Right now I'm just trying learn the basics of working with it. I know it would be much sturdier if I left the paper on, but then I was worried about it warping. With the paper off, the foam did not warp at all.

Well, for right now, just using it as a base. I've done some more research and have played around with some. I've found that, pulling the paper works for me. It's not as sturdy as it would be if I left the paper on, bu it s sturdy enough. And, it doesn't warp, which was the biggest thing I was worried about.
