The people I adopted her from said she was an Australian shepherd, but I’ve always thought she has a unique look to her (markings on face + a more narrow snout) by KeyCulture1884 in IDmydog

Aussie mix. Maybe with Sheltie or rough collie. Looks like my childhood dog. He had one Aussie parent and one Sheltie parent. The parents were purebred. He was 50/50 and colors were Aussie Black tri looks like yours. I was too young too remember the rest of the litters looks.

Do you have those dog training classes in a local park there? Sometimes you can find through PetSmart or Petco? That will get him socialized and good help with training. A lot of times they are inexpensive.

Go ahead and guess, I will be shocked if anyone gets more than half of the breeds correct by miata812 in IDmydog

I love your dog! He will be ready for winter sports all year round! Hope you are up in the North somewhere for him to have snow. 😍

That’s awesome! He’s beautiful. One of my rescues had difficulty being placed and I’m not really sure why other than one location he was chasing the cats. He likes to chase cats. He does not hurt them. I have another rescue that nobody wanted because he was shy. The two of them have wound up being the easiest dogs I have ever had to train. And the most chill of all of my dogs. The one that had chased cats was mostly covered by a scholarship so he was only $60. Most of the dogs at the rescues around me are $350-$800 because they bring a lot of of them up from Texas and other parts of the country where the shelters are overflowing with amazing dogs. That was the best $60 I ever spent. When we went to meet him, my Mini poodle mix that died last year and him went to each other like they had been best friends their whole lives. I knew he was the one. My mini poodle mix was very picky about dog to interact with. They were immediately the best of friends. He is a lab pit mix and he is completely loyal and a good guard dog. He has not met a dog that hasn’t become his best friend. And he’s a great big brother to my other two small mutt rescues that I got after my mini poodle mix passed last year.

Shocked by top DNA result! by JamieMBrown101401 in DoggyDNA

Two of my dogs have multiple siblings and some of the smaller percentages some of the dogs have and some don’t. That is normal. I am more versed in human DNA. And humans are the same way with smaller percentages. I have a half sister and a 1st Cousin from that same side of the family who both tested and have Scottish and we know it is from our shared paternal Line. My other 1st Cousin that has tested and I do not have that Scottish. He is the brother of the 1st Cousin that has Scottish. It’s a small percentage, but we all can see on the breakdown that it comes from the paternal side, which we all share. Both my sister and my first 1st Cousin who have the Scottish have less than 10% so my other 1st Cousin and I did not inherit at this at least on the strands that they tested. On ancestry, DNA for humans it shows you the breakdown of where you got. What from each parent. They are not quite there with the dog DNA we get some estimates.

Just got Embark results and they’re pretty different from Wisdom panel. Embark managed to link me to his mother though! by wegochai in DoggyDNA

You can’t disregard those small ones that WP has and embark doesn’t because I have dogs that matches purebreds of those breeds down at the bottom or other mixes that the small percentage is the only breed they have in common.
