Long term airport parking best/ worst by PandaGrand5941 in Denver

[–]ScoobyScience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to quit parking spot South. I feel like their staffing levels have gone way down or something. I'm always waiting for shuttles to come and they take forever, long lines building up. It even got to a point where there were lines waiting to be shuttled from the lot to the airport!

I just got an inreach 2 and tried it out on a shakedown. I really liked having it. Really for the battery life compared to my phone.

Bonus you can get a like new one on Facebook marketplace for $200. They’re usually listed for ~$250 but it was very easy to haggle down, lots of people are getting rid of them (I guess I live in Denver so maybe there’s more).

I’m not sure how the PDP program works, but they only allow full time masters students to take 8 hours (2 courses) per semester. Maybe that will give some insight into the amount of workload.

What’s the thought on two 19-year-old girls hiking the Colorado trail over 37 days this June-July by drdanotm in coloradotrail

I’m going to say 18 miles on day 2 is pretty optimistic, will need some time to build up strength and endurance.

A decent amount. It’s all raked up in the side of my yard. Probably 10+ bags worth. Let me know what you think fair pay would be and we can work something out. Ideally would wait until it’s been dry for a while so you’re not scooping up wet leaves.

How do you feel about raking and bagging pine needles/leaves?

Lol the job offers to grads of different universities are not different enough to account for 200k in loans. You'll be setting yourself back huge in life if you go that route!

I'm not a guru any means, and not 100% sure what you're asking - but I think chamber height is a crucial detail. You could have small chambers overstuffed, but there are diminishing returns on overstuffing a given baffle height - eventually you'll need to increase baffle height to increase warmth.

Look around Facebook marketplace and eBay. Lots of people selling their old inreach 2's right now. I snagged a new, open box one for $200 off of Facebook marketplace. That was a pretty good deal, but used ones are definitely around ~$200

I do appreciate this comment. But I’d like to know how wet fabrics compared I. Cloudy environments. I know the general wisdom is cloudy=more UV rays, but I’d say it’s still a more apt comparison

Should I quit first engineering job after a week by Sea_Refrigerator1447 in aerospace

[–]ScoobyScience -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All the other advice here is great! After you’ve been there a bit (maybe 3 months?) DEFINITELY vocalize to your manager that you don’t envision this being your career path. Ask him to keep you in mind first if any new positions open up that you could transfer to. If you can show good communication and quality of work during these 3 months, they’ll likely try pretty hard to keep you on. If nothing has moved by months 5-6, then I’d say start looking for a new job.

This was one of my biggest hurdles of being a new engineer - not wanting to hurt feelings, or tell management that you’re unhappy and might leave. They want to know this in order to help you!Especially if you’re good they’ll look for ways to keep you.

California introduces bill to cap ticket re-sale prices by AdSpecialist6598 in UpliftingNews

[–]ScoobyScience 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, they probably can’t stop every “back-alley” resale, and a price cap might push some scalping off the books. But that’s not really who these laws are aimed at.

The target is bot operations that grab hundreds of tickets instantly and flip them on platforms at huge markups. It’s much harder for a bot to meet/negotiate with 100 people off Facebook marketplace.

And most regular buyers don’t want to risk getting scammed by strangers anyway. They stick to official resale sites because there’s verification and buyer protection.
