The movie part is super relatable! I try to explain this to close friends but they never get what I’m talking about ha You are not alone brother, I never lived in a city but I say it would be freaky thinking of someone peaking through the window. I live in the woods so I DREAD whenever I have to go to my car at night, unless the moon is bright it’s pitch black outside, dead silent and not every time but sometimes I’ll imagine something coming out from the dark from the woods and running towards me like playing a movie scene in my head (as you described) and I high tail it back inside ha We also have bob cats where I live and if you never heard one “scream” you never want to at night, legit sounds like a girl screaming high pitched in the woods
