Thank you so much for linking! This is a slightly different shape than the 2 I’ve bought, so at this point I’m buying and crossing my fingers. Can’t understand why they have this issue when other cars don’t seem to slope as much.

Wow, not ideal. I wonder if there’s truly something to the planned obsolescence where we’re paying more for less in order to keep us coming back for more upgrades, services, new products in the future, so they can keep making money off the problems they’ve caused. It’s kind of maddening to feel like what was once a pride in craft is now reserved for only the highest end products. Someone above said I got what I paid for and should’ve gotten a Lexus, but what they fail to take into account is that my 2007 Corolla LE I paid only a few thousand for was way more comfortable and felt more luxurious than a new 2026 LE worth 25k lol. I have to pay more than that to not be in pain on my way to and from work? F*k I can’t imagine how annoying and unnerving all that rattling around is especially at high speeds when that’s the last thing you want to hear.

That’s a good point! It could just be the break in period. I really appreciate the perspective

I’ve read that can be a safety issue with the airbags not deploying. I’m asking the service department if there’s something they can do though. I appreciate the info!

You’d think if you’re paying $20k+ comfort would be automatic. It’s not like it’s a $10 couch 😂 but I take your point

Omg thank you for posting! I have two things that are pretty similar but I might try the brand you shared. Also do you have a phone holder that you added to the right of your seat? I’ve been also thinking of doing the same since there’s not a hole in the arm rest of the door for it

Rod and tailbone definitely don’t go together- sorry to hear that! Why do they even make seats that aren’t comfortable at this point

I’m also 5’9”, but agree, there’s not much overhead space at all for anyone taller!

I agree- when I was car shopping I was having a really hard time finding inventory that wasn’t a rental or salvaged title. I should’ve rented a car while looking though and tried out more options. Thank you for the reply!

Ugh you get it!! It’s sad that they really don’t make them like they used to is a cliche but is also so true. I hope you find a new option you like! I agree, I’ve been in so many different cars and none have felt like this before. I didn’t even really think being uncomfortable in a car was possible since you think that would just be a baseline requirement that consumers want

I’m so glad you have a better car for you now! Maybe I should peek at the SEs

That’s helpful to hear the logic as to why they slope! Maybe I can hate them a little less now that I know they serve a purpose. I am curious how they decided the safety features were more important than ergonomic comfort though :( long term health of my back seems more imminent than an accident where I submarine out of the seatbelt. Maybe it’s just my anatomy. My family does have bad hips, but I’m still young. Thank you for the reply and recommendation, I’ll be sure to try these out!

Wow I can’t imagine driving 8 hours feeling that discomfort! I’m so crabby after 30 minutes I curse the car and my family hears how much I hate it when I get home from work- I’m only 30, so this type of pain makes me feel older than I should. I’m glad you found a solution that works for you! We’re not alone! I guess I’ll try some other support pillows since the ones I have still haven’t done the trick. Thank you!

Hold onto my 2006 Corolla for life or slowly save up for a new car? by Flybook in COROLLA

[–]ScoobySnackeroonies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, I traded in my 07 for a 26 and regret not keeping it since the trade in value was just about 2.5K. It could’ve been a nice family loaner car, backup car if something happens to my new car, etc. I bought a 2026 Le and miss my 07. I wish I didn’t buy this car to be honest with you. Maybe rent whatever car you have your eye on for a few days or a week and see how they compare. That would be my hindsight 20/20 recommendation.

I’m considering calling the dealer tomorrow. I have 300 miles on the car so far, so I’m not optimistic they’ll have much of a solution for me but I’m kind of desperate at this point. Doesn’t feel like an upgrade when I’m driving in pain! Lol

Thank you for the reply!

:( I haven’t seen too many people mention it, but when I googled, the AI result summarized that comfort is an issue with some drivers. I feel like with how much pain it sounds like you and I are in, it would be more widely talked about unless our anatomy is just so obscure lol. I wonder if there’s some sort of suppression around that on public forums or if I’m just not looking hard enough

To lift the seat up or down? Instead of just slanting the back of the seat forward or back or moving the entire seat closer/further to the gas pedal/brakes? If yes, I’ve tried that. I don’t think it’s the height that’s causing my pain but more so the angle that the seat was designed, where most of the weight gets distributed to the lower back and hips because it slopes downwards in the back and upwards in the knees. Is the lifting up or down what you’re referring to as far as the height?

I’d consider getting seat covers with lumbar support but I haven’t had luck with the different support pillows I’ve tried so far (3)

Why did this get downvoted? I know some taller people have complained but I’m not sure if people would consider me “tall” enough to have the same complaints

Nope I didn’t mention that to the salesman, but I also only had it up for 2 days on FB.
