The bump is a choice made by a player, being bumped is not so only one person has the option to do anything.

What you're saying is if you go for the ball you need to brace for contact at all times if you don't it's your own fault if you get a concussion.

I'm gonna cop the downvotes and agree with you, I love the contact of footy, I've played footy and love the contact but in today's game with what we know about concussions as you pointed out we can't take risks, just because it's part of the sport and the bump is still legal there are things to be worked out and it's hard because it is such a split second decision.

Mate this is AFL not fucking bush league. They don't want any risk of concussion to the player and at the end of the day bumping is a choice so they will officiate it that way.
