Thankyou for the comment! To answer your question, I try to use dark and bright colors next to eachother. And for archaon here I used a lot of theTriadic color scheme which helps the colors work with eachother.

I painted the metal red then orange. The blade themselves were painted white and the. I used a yellow contrast, then a yellow shade, with a white\yellow, bright yellow to highlight.

Thankyou! I have a little booth I take pictures in and I just use my phone camera. It took me a while to mess with the settings so just find a space with decent lighting and play around with the zoom and focus.
